I couldn't agree more. Spooks is quality drama and this sort of quality is seriously lacking.
I've just told the BBC that my TV license money is only to be spent on future Spooks episodes and long may it rule!Big Grin

I hate when series are extended for the sake of money and audience, many series, at first were great an then due to prolongation got terrible; and this does not happen in Spooks, I think Spooks don't fail our expectations, it gets better and better Smile I love it!Heart

Of course I'd love it if it went to 10 or longer! And the ratings for the premiere were very promising.

I agree. Series 7 was my favorite, and there has only been one season that I didn't enjoy. I think they keep it fresh by moving the characters in and out and focusing on different political/global issues in each season. I'd be very happy if they kept going for at least another one or two years.

My opinion on the number of seasons the show should run is quite simple; 1 less season than when it starts to go downhill. I'd rather have 8 excellent seasons and no more than have a ninth and tenth season that's not up to the mark.

I always worry about shows of such a high standard, it must be hard to continue with engaging and (mostly) realistic situations over such a long period of time. Lets hope that unlike some American comedies, the people in charge of spooks know when to pull the plug before they get stale.

Cheers

If it can kepp these figures up then there would be no justification for the BBC to cancel it.

I think last Season the viewing figures dropped slightly from the opening episode and this is likely to happen again. There will be a certain number who will have watced Episode 2 last night who will not tune in again on Wednesday.

There's a final number floating around the net of 7.047 million. I don't know whether they get that number by including the repeat.

I wonder if they take account of all the people outside the UK who watch it by one means or another.......[Image: laughing-1-1.gif]

How about we help them count? Ok, whoever is watching it from outside the Uk, raise your hands now... Hang on, I can't see Wink I doubt that they do, but all they need to do is to see the number of views on youtube, etc, and then add that to their total.

RE: Episode 1 Ratings - Beatriz - 07-11-2009 04:56 PM
