Hi Guys
Just got back off holiday, and going to cheer myself up by watching PF DVD's and buying some more that should help

Peter looks absolutely adorable as Colonel Caine :thud:and manages a very commendable performance, considering the movie's a giant 'ham sandwich'. The great Patrick Stewart's in it, too - and he really hams it up! He much cringe every time the word is mentioned.Blush

I watched it all the way through and I actually enjoyed it this time. It looked good in HD, I have to say. It's just such a shame the special effects are so dated now. How the actors kept straight faces I do not know!

I think Peter was the only actor who was not totally OTT in his performance. I have to admit though that Peter wearing a pout and frown throughout the movie, helped keep me watching. I also noticed that he managed to get in "get me the Home Secretary on the line" once.

Does anybody know what Peter Firth is doing after the filming spooks 9, is he doing any tv/movies?

Nothing that I have heard of. It seems Mr Firth tends to take it easy between series: the odd audio book, voice over/commercial or an interesting bit part is all he has ever done when Spooks wraps. I am sure that his paycheck from Spooks is quite comfortable, his career is fully established so he doesn't need to build his resume like the younger cast members, and he is at a time in his career where he can choose to work or not. That is a place most actors never get to. If I were him, I'd be drifting on my boat somewhere in the Mediterranean and enjoying my time off with my kids! Until its time to start doing press appearances for the next series.

That's what I would say A Cousin. He's probably putting his feet up on his boat as we type. I am not sure how it works with the post production stuff though. Surely they have to make themselves available for re-shoots and sound work. I am sure I read somewhere that Peter and Nicola got called back in October 2009 for some last minute filming for S8. I can though see Peter being the one thrust forward this year for the press appearances.

All this talk about S9 is getting me excited - can't wait to see it!

And I agree with A Cousin - he's probably messing about on his boat, or on holiday with is kids somewhere over the summer.

And I'm half way through watching The Vice - PF playing a really, really sleazy porn king. He does it very well, I must say.Cool

I really hope so because he's got such a lovely soft voice, but Richard Armitage seems to do all the interviews these days, doesn't he? If PF does do them, I bet it's with one of the newbies.
