just read that the actress that played isabella (guy of gisborne's sister) in robin hood will take a leading role in spooks. guy of gisborne was played by richard armitage btw! how exciting

Rumours are now it'll air on September 18th...
Forgive me for being a bit brash here, but why would the BBC A)Air a show as big as Spooks on a Sunday of all days? and
B) Put Spooks in direct competition with Downton Abbey?
The source is from Spain, they said their TV tracker is putting Spooks on that day, however the BBC haven't given any info out about the air date yet. To be honest, Spooks taking over from Torchwood seems a much better option

Just taking a flying *guess* at a rolling donut (Kurt Vonnegut, anyone?
), I would imagine that TPTB might think that the majority of the audiences for Spooks and Downton Abbey are a different demographic. Generally speaking. Of course there are those of us who enjoy both, but it wouldn't be a large enough group to inform scheduling. Fans of Spooks in the UK can watch via iPlayer afterwards. I believe that DA is available via iPlayer too? And they still count in the ratings. That said, the fact is that ratings don't matter any more for Spooks. Kudos/BBC no longer have to justify it's continuation with uber-large viewing numbers. Fans will watch it. Or not. It's got to be kind of liberating for them.
Still...we'll see how it all crinkles out....

I still doubt the BBC will be pleased getting lower rating, whether its the last Series or not, and Sunday I thought was a day that wasn't usually one for showing Drama's
What's strange is a TV schedule webiste has said its the 18th... however the BBC have said nothing about the air date yet, and since they decide what day its going to be, I wonder how this other site got that info, when no other site has it yet.
Ian Wylie also said the slots shift around constantly until the last minute
We'll have to wait for the BBC to confirm still, which should be soon hopefully

I would be surprised if it was a Sunday..Sunday Eve is my night for happy endings eg Heartbeat/ The Royal etc...I wonder if they mean week commencing the 18th Sept!

Having screamed at the radio times new website (is it a competition to see how useless a website can be or something?!?!) I've worked out that the only dates it can't be on (assuming it continues to be on at 9pm) are Mondays and Wednesdays. I seriously doubt it'll be on at the weekend, but then again they tried wrecking it last year by putting it so close to Christmas so I have faith in the BBCs programming abilities to put it on at the most inconvenient time.
