Thanks for this article. PF always comes across so well in an interview, and for someone who professes not to lay much claim to Yorkshireness he seems to know an awful lot about it!
Can't wait for January. I am feeling the loss of Peter on the screen.

Thanks for posting. I have never been that far north, in England. Peter does make Yorkshire sound appealing though. Interesting that he was filming August and September. With Spooks filming finishing late this year, he didn't really have much of a break did he. Hopefully he is putting his feet up ready for February.

This is probably one of the best interviews I have ever read of PF at least as it pertains to getting a better idea of his view of the world. I love that he likes Charles Laughton, who is indeed brilliant. I can see similarities. I like knowing who my favorites actors favorite actors are. I have the Explorations of James Cook in the Pacific collecting dust on my book shelf. It has been on the list for a few years. I guess I'm going to have to read it now!
Yorkshire is one of the few places I have been in the UK but only to the city of York where, incidentally, a gypsy predicted that I would have three kids (I only had one at the time but now have three) and was currently pregnant (I was but didn't know it) and for only the low price of $36USD. I barely understood a word she said so my local friend translated as the gypsy successfully took $36USD off of me! Some friend!

I guess the fascination with James Cook also explains his love for sailing.
And he loves seafood, and pork pies, and chips, and Lesley Garrett, and Joe Cocker! The more I learn about him, the more I like him.

Great interview. I love Joe Cocker!
I'm going to Yorkshire next summer, camping with the family. I think I shall have to suggest a few of those places to visit. Especially the river where he went skinny dipping!

Look here. This is just getting ridiculous. I've already had to explain (lie) to Mr TL about why "Dog So Small" is on my Christmas list. How can I explain away putting "Explorations of James Cook in the Pacific" on there as well??
I like Charles Laughton too, A Cousin. Hobson's Choice is a favourite of mine with John Mills.
