Ruth certainly fits the "trusted friend" tag but I still can not see it in her to hurt people and that includes Ros and the HS. Also, she would not have known who would get caught up in that explosion. I can not see Ruth risking hurting innocent civilians, especially. I also can not see her being recruited by Nightingale, being Harry's trusted friend. These press releases are worded to confuse us and question. I too hope it is not Ruth or Malcolm as I will have a hard time believing it !

I have to agree with Tea Lady. I'd have a hard time believing that either has "blood on their hands", simply because it doesn't seem to be in their character.
Perhaps there'll be a new character which we can tag this awfulness too... like Vaughn, who seems to have a somewhat shady looking past with Lucas.

If I remember rightly that's because of the sensitive nature of the first episode compared to real-life occurrences? So it's unlikely to happen again, but possible.

About the Ros spoiler I was going for the she managed to pull the HS into the stairwell meaning they would be somewhat protected from the blast.
But seems they didn't ask me to write the script and therefore that idea never happened

You've really put my mind at ease, Tea Lady and RBS89. Phew! I was getting really worried, but I'm sure you're right. Maybe Harry will be heart broken and will need to cry on Ruth's shoulder, and one thing will lead to another and who knows!

Would it be possible for Zoe to come back as the trusted friend? She was sentenced to 10 years in 2004 I think - with a reduced sentence for good behaviour .....? Can't think of anyone else, unless it's a character from MI5's past that the audience hasn't come across before (like Lucas was).

I do wonder whether this press release and other interviews are just one big ruse, and Ros is still alive. A bit like the Allies campaign in 1944 to divert attention for the D-Day landings, to the Pas-de-Calais region.
