Little winge - I liked PF in Tess - georgous as he is/was then - but I hated the film.

I found a website specialising in audiobooks which had quite a lot of PF's work but the prices were completely staggering - £45-65 for audiocassette or CD versions of books. What planet are they on??!!
They had The Prince but read by a different actor.
TL - I expect that there's some gizmo which enables you to convert audio cassette to MP3, a bit like the VHS-MP4 converters.

It's incredibly difficult to get hold of anything of PFs that is still available. Something of a labour of love. I came across the Tess audio book when I was trying to find Birdsong, which seems to be an impossibility. I love Birdsong and can imagine Peter's reading of it being absolutely extraordinary. In Waterstones the one PF production they could offer me was the Tess audiobook, at the staggering price of £67!! In the end I got it from Amazon for seven quid. Where's the logic?
I'm supremely technologically challenged but I am happy to share it with anyone if I can work out how! Also, would be very happy if anyone could share a recording of Birdsong.

I am working on the Birdsong conversion to CD. It may take some time though. Bear with.
Not sure if I have said before but I am totally loving "That's Life." I know Peter only has a small part but he is just so darn cute in it. I'm on episode 7. I haven't pressed fast forward once, which makes a change

He is really cute in it, isn't he? I really just want to hug Victor. And he's wonderfully British in it, which is a nice antidote to the in-your-face New Jerseyness of it all (apologies to cousins from the Garden State but That's Life is a bit OTT in that regard). I confess that I did fast forward quite a bit - I really just wanted to slap most of the characters, particularly Pauly!

No offense taken and not just because it gave me chance to take the mickey a bit. As with all TV programmes, they probably are OTT. But they do exist and are equally as slappable as Pauly!
Could be worse. Could be "Jersey Shore." Those are real guidos and guidettes.

I can empathise, A Cousin, as I come from south Essex. Basildon, to be precise and it's the UK's equivalent, for media people, of NJ.
Our people are shown as loud, no taste...common, basically. In fact, PF has played someone from where I come from - Godzilla in The Broker's Man. His character was very much like a number of guys I've met...and PF played it rather well, actually.

Just rewatched Shadowlands today because I hadn't realised PF was in it. There's no denying men improve with age (into gorgeous, memorable, yummy lips, Pearce-ing eyes). Is that diplomatic enough ... surely he's only human and will want to read about himself here from time to time and I don't want to blow my chances when he decides he's fed up with young gorgeous things that fall all over him and can't resist a same age (well, OK slightly older) woman who will fall all over him?

No date for South Riding as yet. It was reported to be January though. The BBC Press Office has been closed for the best part of a week, so hoping we get a date in the next week or so.

Cateau1, It's called White Angel in the UK. It's one of Peter's best films. Some say his best. It is a low budget horror film though, so don't expect anything amazing in terms of sets. But Peter's performance is brilliant and well worth seeking out.
