So now I have to catch up.

Check out the PF website, which list everything he's done professionally. Also gives bio info. Wiki, too.

It was on the Go-Cat website.

Checked out the Go-Cat advert -- what a hoot! Somehow you just don't expect to hear Sir Harry Pearce telling you about cat food!Rolleyes It's hard to believe that actors really do that stuff but I've had any number tell me that the work is basically short and sweet and the money is great. I guess that says it all.Wink

I don't think there's anything wrong with doing endorsements or voiceovers for various products. It's when you have people who, forgive me, whore themselves around on the commercial circuit that it loses its integrity.

Plus there's something endearing about doing an advert for cat food. And he has such a nice voice.

Does anyone actually know if he has cats?

His private life is kept very private, I think Silktie said once. So it is not known whether he has pets. It is known that he has 4 children to support (hence the Go-Cat advert, maybe) and it is believed he is divorced but again you will not find any public confirmation of that, only that he seems to now be single/unmarried.

I did read somewhere that he is, indeed, divorced again and has been for about 4-ish years.

Re actors doing voice-overs, I don't necessarily have anything against it; I just find it amusing when well-known actors with easily identifiable voices do so, given some of the products they hawk and the incongruity of hearing that voice coupled with that product. Patrick Stewart and Morgan Freeman do it for US products all the time.

Its refreshing to find an actor whose life isnt splashed all over the celebrity magazines. and there seems to be hardly any interviews with him either, I've only seen the ones on Youtube, unless theres others stashed somewhere. An intriguing man of mystery Tongue

I was going to say the same thing. Now we get to wonder whether he's a dog person (like Harry) or whether he prefers cats. Or whether he can't stand pets but sometimes wants a turtle just so he can talk about it at dinner parties.

RE: Peter Firth - almh - 22-12-2009 09:31 AM

Turtle???

Most of the Spooks main actors/actresses do keep quite clear out of the limelight.

RE: Peter Firth - JHyde - 22-12-2009 09:40 AM

(I was kidding.)

Actually, I think from watching how he interacts with Scarlet (his dog) in 4.9, he probably really likes animals. Or he's just a really good actor. Oh hang on.....

RE: Peter Firth - almh - 22-12-2009 09:42 AM

LOL!!! They said in the commentary for 4.9 that he is brilliant with Scarlet, and that it was all improvised by Peter (the scene where:

Spoiler: show
He's sitting at home watching the tv with Scarlet sitting next to him

Not entirely sure that last sentence needed spoiler tags but still...

They also said that the trainer couldn't get the dog to do what they wanted but Peter could, so I guess it's probably a mixture of both Wink

RE: Peter Firth - JHyde - 22-12-2009 09:45 AM

I'm so jealous you have commentary on those two episodes at the end of season 4. They're two of my favourites in the whole show.

So PF's the dog whisperer?
