Without spooks forum (and almh), I'd never have discovered ff.net. And to paraphrase berto, I'm not sure whether that's a good thing.

Without SF I wouldn't have been tempted into cheating & reading spoilers in the forum in the middle of watching Series 1-8 to find out what happens next :-) On an iPhone browser, while on holiday!!
Without SF I wouldn't have a legitimate excuse to completely ignore the other half talking to me in the same room - my quiet non-response or "sorry what did you say", give away what I'm looking at online! "Oh Spooks again is it".
Without SF I may have cracked up trying to plan our wedding which is a few weeks away. It was the perfect excuse to break away from wedding'y stuff!

I would not have felt very guilty and tempted away from exam revision for the uber-long time I was away
I would not have known the the United Nations had their own flag
I would not have such a great collection of Spooks wallpapers
I would not have almost fallen asleep on several occasions in English due to staying up to catch up on here
I would not have been tempted onto Twitter (arguably not always a good thing, but the amount of alerts to stuff I get that I would not have known otherwise is very good...
)

...but never checked out Nicola Walker and found Touching Evil. And Hermione Norris and Wire in the Blood. And lost even more sleep
