I love a whole slew of shows no one here has mentioned yet. Dalziel & Pascoe for exemple. I think it's got pretty good writing all the way through, but the first half is especially good. The final episode was also brilliant IMHO, ended the series on a dramatic high, but yet it was a very bitter sweet ending. The chemistry between the two main characters is great, and both of them experience a bit of character development during the shows 11-year run. Dalziel, who starts off as brusque and offensive mellows quite a bit, while younger, more idealistic Pascoe almost ends up as a new Daziel.

And yeah... Midsomer Murders. I can't really explain why I love that show so much. Maybe it's because it's such pure, delightful craziness? You'll be hard pressed to find a completely sane character in that show. They are all loopy in a way that is fun to watch. I often think it's quite a shame that as Barnaby & sidekick uncovers the truth, several people's colourful, unusual lives unravel permanently. But it's entertainment, not a show to take too seriously.

I guess I like watching shows that contrast each other. Spooks is very logical, so to speak. Even if s9 didn't always make sense. The crimes the team is up against are carefully planned and executed. Both sides are highly trained in their fields. Their plans depend upon advanced technology and powerful weapons that few ordinary people understand. In shows like D&P and MM you've got a pair of fairly ordinary people up against other ordinary people. The crimes aren't commited for a "higher cause", it's mostly on the very personal level. Often the motive is so twisted that you couldn't possible have guessed it. (Serial killing to break a family curse, anyone? Or, accidentally beating someone to death trying to fend them off; They attacked you because you discovered they wore a wig.) Often, only a lucky coincidence helps solve the case.

Spies and terrorists are a part of real life, but so are crazy neighbours with unhealthy obsessions as well. Guess which ones we are most likely to meet. Smile

I really liked Dalziel & Pascoe, especially the earlier series when they were both so different.

Silent Witness last night?
Series silent witness Spoiler: show
Was it really Silent Witness or some sort of private detective agency solving the problems of former Eastern Bloc countries and defeating corruption at the highest level. I thought they were pathologists but didn't see them cutting up any bodies to find evidence. And then to basically rewrite the last few minutes of the previous night's episode I thought was a cheap trick. But hey Harry is alive and well, best bit of the whole story!!

Can you tell I'm still slightly upset with series 9? Smile

I'm starting to watch the US version of Being Human, I never quite got into the UK one because it just felt kinda strange and dark, the US one has less of that intensity which is quite a signature difference of US and British shows, but I adore the humor in the US one. The first episode had me laughing my head off, and I'm loving the girl who plays the ghost, her mocking of the boys in their first few encounters is just way too hilarious!

I'm also waiting for the February 16th premiere of the new Criminal Minds spin-off called Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior, in fact, I've been waiting since April of 2009 when they first showed the new team in a cross-over episode. Seeing a promo that CBS released for the new spin-off did satisfy some of my impatience but I'm still really really really impatient in waiting for the new show to air. There's been some grumblings with the fans especially with the recent casting departures and changes with the original cast and dumb decisions made by the network, but I really hope that fans will give the new spin-off a chance to make their own way.

Ah silent witness = AMAZING! It would be good if Spooks did something like that, like a twist instead of just killing everyone Tongue (although in the same way SW is a bit ridic because the characters are always in danger but never die haha (the main characters I mean, it would be a little odd if they were no deaths at all hahahha) ) but yes I loved the storyline of last night so much! Also I found Harry drawing postmortem marks on his gf weird... certainly not my idea of a romantic night in hahaha

And I know I am probably not the target age range for this sort of thing but I am just catching up on the second series of Land Girls and I love it!

Silent Witness was WOW last night!! I was totally fooled by the ending of Monday night's episode. I didn't suspect a thing, even when Harry put his hand around Nicky's shoulders!! It's not often a series can keep that sort of stuff out of the rumour mills before hand, so it was a rare treat to be surprised by a show. And yes I know that the story had nothing to do with Pathology, but well, who cares?

I've recently finished Pushing Daisies, it was a pity it was cancelled. I wasn't sure about it at first, I loved the aesthetics but there was one thing I didn't quite like: Chuck's character; but after a few episodes she grew on me, and her clothes are really great!
This series a delight for the eye, and the pie maker character is so cute, Lee Pace is such dish!! haha
It also has some references to films and I enjoyed spotting them.
They did give it an ending, they couldn't do more I guess, I was disappointed with the final episode; that's what happens when a series gets cancelled.

I've been watching Glee, too, and I can say after a few episodes that I can't understand how this series won two Golden Gloves, PLEASE!! The characters are boring, and the actors who play them are pretty bad. Ok, I get that they are teenagers and it's a show for teenagers, but at least the adults in the show could be less childish and stupid! The only one that I like is Sue Sylvester - Jane Lunch. Some performances are nice but... I won't bother watching. I think they did an episode about "The Rocky Horror Picture Show", I'll watch that and then bye bye.

Waving my Canadian flag here ~ "InSecurity" from CBC! It plays on and spoofs everything spy-related. Set in Ottawa, NISA (not a real agency) agents "protect" the country from the bad guys! It's been described as "Get Smart" updated. I can't help but laugh and yes I even LOL!

Check it out if you can http://www.cbc.ca/video/#/Shows/InSecurity Cool

Heh, I always like a good spoof. Wonder if we'll ever get to see it here.
