I canot believe the tragedy in Malysia.Simoncelli was a great talent
& probably a future champion.A great loss to Moto sport.
I to have watched a few episodes of Sons of Anarchy it is just on a little late

I have found out the hard way about going Easy to my detriment. It was a moment of stupidity
i am OK but now my mum & sister's are moaning to get rid not safe P.S I think Rossi will retire after this year how long did he sign to Ducatti.

He signed for 2 years but Steve Parrish in his column thought we may have seen the last of him today. He and Simo were great friends and came from neighbouring villages; Rossi had mentored him and having been involved in the accident and after all the crashes Rossi has had this year, may decide that enough is enough. It would be a very sad end to a truly remarkable career, but with Rossi you can never tell. He may race at Valencia in tribute to Super Simo and it is the last race of the year. Can't imagine that there will be any great appetite to make it a real race.

Guys, I appreciate the discussion but this is a thread for TV and it is becoming more about Moto G.P.

Feel free to start a thread specifically for that topic in this same sub forum.

hmm I've just seen my post in the first part of this thread, though I should do an update.
Here's my current list...

Spooks (back to series 1 dvd's)
NCIS (only recently discovered, LOVE it)
QI
Merlin
Dave in general, so Top Gear, Red Dwarf, HIGNFY, MtW etc.

My list has shrunk, my favourite shows tend to either get cancelled (Ashes to Ashes, Spooks) turn into soaps (Waterloo Road) or I just lose interest in them (Doctor Who).

I hear Red Dwarf is back for a new series sometime around Christmas. hmmm. That should be interesting...

.. I don't own/like tv even though I live on the other side of the pond. I particularly dislike 'reality' tv and 'sitcoms': blecchh (adult vocab. eh?)

I prefer going to movies, anyday- the foreign-er the better.

I've really enjoyed the BBC stuff I've seen.

right now, I'm embarrassed to admit I've been watching a show called Merlin Blush (I found a blog that posts all episodes for free- amazing).

and I'm not embarassed to admit I'm enjoying The Hour- and highly recommend it.

My 80 year old mother introduced me to NCIS. It would seem that the nut doesn't fall to far from the tree because, IMO, NCIS is about as close to Spooks as you can get on US TV at the moment. The stories are not quite as politically charged but they are also not as formulaic as the Law & Order franchises.

The character work is great. Gibbs is a really intriguing character and Mark Harmon gives a subtly nuanced performance. I have never been a huge Mark Harmon fan so I was pleasantly surprised. And I can't help but completely relish the quirkiness of Abby and Ducky. I just adore them.

  • The Waking Dead
  • Merlin
  • Criminal Minds
  • Anything historical

Merlin is definitely one of those guilty pleasure things. I love Arthurian legend, but because of it's awful historical inaccuracies and violation of the legends, I just watch it out of habit now.

I've now watched S1 of Deadwood and by the final episode was able to blank out the foul language and concentrate on the complexities of some of the characters and their relationships. I'm really looking forward to watching S2 but while waiting for that to arrive have watched S1 of Justified and enjoyed that as well. Unfortunately the local library never seems to have the entire set of series of these things so having been hooked by S1 am then let scratching around to find subsequent series and the local Blockbuster is equally rubbish Sad

I go through phases of TV obsessions
Went from x-Files (LOVE the first movie, 2nd one BLAH...) to SG-1 (good times....) to Doctor Who (modern. most of my summer hols watching that ^_^) to Spooks. (depressed for days when it ended. I'll look back and think myself a silly fool probably haha)

Current shows I following are Downton Abbey (yes I'm one of them) Actually really enjoy it. But I think I'm the only person who doesn't have it in for the maid Jane. I actually quite like her; even if the Lord Grantham liaison was rather out of the blue. And yes the final 2 eps or so were rather soapy....
Castle - LOVE it! I know some of the situations are either cliche or corny but just adore Nathan Fillion from Firefly which is the main reason why I started to watch it. It has its ups and downs like any show but I think its rather gorgeous. Also it has quite a lotta in jokes and cross references to other shows Big Grin
NCIS - adore this show and prefer it much more to any other criminal show of which there are WAAAY too many.
Was pretty obsessed with Bones for a time but now just like it. I think it gone on a bit too long.

I love Merlin too, I don't watch it for historical accuracy.
