[spoilers] Which character had the best introduction? - bertowud - 18-08-2009 11:45 AM

One of the biggest struggles I see in Spooks is they have a hard time introducing new characters. They come up with the greatest send offs though.

Adam's introduction was a bit too perfect for me and Ruth's was too awkward.

Of all of the characters brought in I thought Ros and Jo's introduction to the show were the best.

What do you think?

I think Jo's introduction was done very well... she was a suspect.. followed the team, save their lives & recorded vital intelligence...

It was how I imagined people are recruited in real life. Big Grin

I loved Ros' introduction the best Big Grin I was completely hooked on that storyline from the beginning.

I reckon Lucas, because I was convinced he was a baddie til about mid way through series 7 with all the background intel on him. Smile

You mean recruited to the Secret Services by the gas meter man? Big Grin

Actually that's what I liked about Jo's recruitment. It did have a flavor of realism to it. Although a lot of the services here in the US are recruited either directly from the military, police or college.

If you're a reckon I ain't goin'. Sorry, bad pun.

That sounds interesting. Something to look forward to.

Definitely Ros followed closely by Lucas' introduction to section d.

I didn't think Lucas' introduction was anything special... & Ros' was a bit of silly storyline.

I loved Jo's and Ben's introduction, because they both decided to work for MI5 after being implicated in their investigation, wich is really interesting and make them pretty brave to choose to work there when you've seen what can happen!!!!
I also like the introduction of Adam, I just loved his first scene makes me laugh everytime!

Adam's worked the best for me to date (although I haven't seen season 7 yet so cannot comment on Lucas' introduction). I think Adam's introduction fitted well into the storyline of the stand-off between Tom and Harry, and he was different enough as a character from Tom to satisfy me. After a season and a half of enduring Tom as a tortured soul, Adam was a breath of fresh air as someone who actually looked like he enjoyed working for MI5, and thought it was worthwhile!
