As much as I don't want it to be true I agree that Zaf is dead, I seem to remember them identifying him through his dental records. (A good excuse to watch that episode again)

Question: Was there ever any explanation of what LV2 meant other than an interrupted attempt to send his love to some un-named someone?
Imagine the desperate state one must get to to be able to carve something into your own foot? Wait. On second thought, don't think about it at all. Its too horrible.
I agree - worst death. Sometimes what you don't see is more horrible than what is spelled out for you.

I agree that Zaf's death was worst. But mostly because nobody knows exactly what happened to him.
Also it doesn't quite fit with the story because he was apparently dying from the virus, probably within the final stages, (far worst than Adam), but someone manages to get the antidote and he recovers. I have always thought this unlikely.

It wasn't really fully explored what LV2 meant. I think if you were trying to send a specific message to someone, you would have just perhaps carved their initials. That would have been enough to let them know you were thinking of them in your last moments. There is another theory which comes from Secrets fanfic that, LV2 was a call sign or code. Secrets also has the theory that

Another thing is as well as Zaf having the virus, wasn't he shot in the stomach? I guess if he was worth a high price, they probably gave him good medical care to keep him alive.

Very interesting theory Tea Lady!! That could be totally possible. Poor man, I couldn't blame him if he did. (I haven't finished Secrets yet).
LV2, it's a very extrange message to leave, it actually seems to mean "Love you too", but we knew nothing about Zaf's personal life.I'm not sure what the writers wanted to tell us with this... It could be a code, but for what?

I wonder whether the writers put it in and were going to explore it further, but obviously didn't, or maybe the scenes were just cut.

i just rewatched 6x1 and well is it possible zaf was kidnapped? i mean we could argue the people who had him bosted about it or something, and then he was taken from them and they were burnt?
i think his death affected adam to, Zaf knew he was going to die the moment he made them let adam go. the fact that he might have been infected with the virus and was prob in shock from the amount of blood he had lost
