Fresh Series 8 Rumors - Nitrus - 24-08-2009 09:26 AM

Here's some recent rumors going around on the internet:

Spoiler: show
Connie might not be dead (I think this is false)
Yalta will make a return (I hope this happens)
Series 8 will focus on Korea (Don't think so)

That's the latest that I am hearing...

What do you think?

Spoiler: show
Yalta seems like a sure thing. How could they go wrong bringing Yalta back? The rest not so much, unless Connie is part of Yalta, which doesn't make sense to me.

Spoiler: show
Agree that the Yalta rumour could be real. I could see that happening. Also, it would mean the return of Juliet, which is always good. She's a great baddie! The Korea rumour could just be a guess from people trying to figure out which current news stories would be most likely to feature. Can't see it happening though as they already did the 'Must stop evil empire from obtaining nuclear technology' storyline in season 6.

Spoiler: show
I know they have done the whole "stop foreign power get nuclear bomb" but it IS real & happening in more places than Iran.

I would be interesting to see if the Chinese secret intelligence come into it, they are pretty controversial at the moment.

I tend to hope we don't have a over played running theme. Happy to have a background thread the gets moments of time through each episode but i don't want 8 episodes that are installments of one story. Guess i'd like some action that's unrelated to the theme of the series. Any thoughts?

RE: Fresh Series 8 Rumors - JHyde - 05-11-2009 10:11 AM

Spoiler: show
The first and the third are bollocks. The second one makes little sense, apart from a possible Juliet return - although who the hell would be employing her? Personally I wasn't crazy about Yalta, and I think they'd be reluctant to return to a season 6 storyline, it wasn't that successful for them. The international ring makes more sense as it runs less along nationalist lines and more along financial ones, and that fits in better with the themes actors have talked about in interviews.
