Same for me (although I did get a little bored during S6 and missed a couple of episodes.) Got made redundant and purchased all the DVD box sets in 2009 and watched them over a few weeks at home. Really fell in love with H/R when rewatched and came across this forum on the net.

I watched, and loved, spooks from the first episode, way back in time, they showed it here on national tv(Belgium) for a couple of seasons, but than stopped for no apparent reason, then I turned to the BBC to see the last 3 seasons. Last year they re-run series 1-7 on another channel, here, so was able to rewatch and catch up with all the episodes I missed! I still love it, but i find it such a shame that they did'n't use the many possible storylines with Lucas (he is, and always will be my fav character, but that also may have to do with RA)

Been completely hooked since 7.1. Have definitely made up for lost time though, and have since roped no less than seven friends into watching it Tongue

I had seen a few episodes from the end of series 7 last year, and thought the show seemed like a really cool concept, that was well filmed and had brilliant actors. However I cleverly forgot what the name of the show was Angel Clever me.

This year, I made a new friend who is pretty obsessed with the show, and she had been talking about it a lot, and I realised that it sounded very similar to the show I had seen glimpses of in the past. So I decided to check out series 9 as it was on the iPlayer. Needless to say I was not disappointed! I recognised RA's character immediately, and watched about half of series 9 before realising that I should probably go back at watch some older episodes to put everything in context before finishing the latest series.

So I'm very new to the game Blush Ironically though, my dad has apparently been watching the show for years, and I just never noticed. If only I had realised sooner!

I think the first episode I saw was 3.3, but at that time I was working a lot of late shifts at work, and because of this I missed most of the rest of S3 and pretty much all of S4. I'd really enjoyed what I had seen though, and when S5 aired I was hooked straight away. By the time S6 aired I had series 1-5 on DVD and had caught up on everything I'd missed. Still one of very few programmes I make an effort not to miss.

I am just relieved there is going to be a s10.Been part of my life for so long.
Still reeling over the end of S9.I feel the character of Lucas was just wasted could have been so much more.Hope we don't waste the whole series clearing Harry or looking for Beth's personality.
ps sorry bit carried away been fan since day one .Watched because my husband wanted to so glad I DID.

Stumbled on watching 5.6, which my mum was watching at the time on ABC tv. (probably aired a year or two after the UK). I decided I liked it. Mum borrowed 1 & 2 from the library and I was hooked. We watched series 1 - 4 borrowed from the library, then continued borrowing from Bigpond. Loved series 5, so I bought every series. Been watching since about 2006/07. Smile Very glad I stumbled in on it. Am a bigger fan than my mum now; although we both regularly rewatch. There's usually at least 2 episodes or more watched in our house each week. Mum's going through series 2 atm, while I'm going through series 4. Big Grin

Mines a long story... to cut it much shorter...
I was a fan of Ashes to Ashes, and of course Keeley Hawes, and knowing she was in the first 3 Series of Spooks was tempted to watch it but never got round to it, then a friend of mine suggested watching it so I watched 2.1, watched the first 10 minutes...and then after 10 minutes decided to go down town and get S1, I now I have S1-7 on DVD Smile
I've only really been a fan for a few months or so, but I just got hooked on the show so quickly!

Actually though when it was being aired (To avoid spoilers ect) I only watched 9.8 on TV but couldn't help but watch the rest of Series 9 on iPlayer Smile

The quality of the script and the characters and actors just drew me in though, and now I'm a huge fan Big Grin
