Kudos Projects - Tea Lady - 15-01-2011 02:13 PM

As a lot of us seem to be interested in Kudos related productions, I thought we should have a general thread to note any new series being produced, so we can keep an eye out in the future for them.

The BBC announced this week that a new spy drama has been commissioned:

Morton, 8 x 60 series, written by Frank Spotnitz made by Kudos Film and Television

"Meet Sam. A spy. A hunter. And herself hunted by an enemy more ruthless and determined than any she's ever known. Sam has been running from her past her entire life but when she returns to Mobius, the organisation that employs her, and begins to pursue her pursuer, she will discover the only way to escape that past... is to confront it. This is the story of a spy with a bull's eye on her back, a human target unable to trust anyone at any time, even the man she loves. She is, quite literally, running for her life. Morton is a smart, complex and contemporary spy series."

I read about this and thought "hope its not a replacement for Spooks". Sounds interesting in its own right though, despite its similarities to Alias and Nikita.

Sounds interesting, I'll give it a watch when it's broadcast. But as Aria says, hopefully it's not a replacement for Spooks!

Yeh, I thought that as well. Perhaps though Nicola Walker could play Sam and the "man she loves" could be played by Peter Angel Now I wouldn't mind that at all. Smile

Kudos do like to use the same actors.

They seem to enjoy making similar genres of shows as well; they produce Hustle, don't they? I'm not a fan but I watched an episode last night and thought it was fairly Spooks-esque, only of course dealing with con-men rather than spies Wink

Slightly off topic, as its not a Kudos production, but another Spy drama has been commissioned by the BBC with some very good people in it.

Wasn't sure where a good home for this was but it says in the Times today, that Kudos which is part of the Shine Group is being taken over by News Corporation (Murdoch) for £415 million. The deal will go through in April. Not sure whether this is a good thing or bad thing for Kudos.
