My holidays begin at 6pm this evening, end of term at last and it can't come soon enough. I need a break from my uni house.

I love this thread!!! Smile

This year New Year's Eve will be strange for me, considering last year I had such a bad night that I haven't had a drop of alcohol since, I think I'd prefer a small gathering of friends to see in 2012. Smile

Wow! I always say when I'm hungover but I never keep it...

I've started my holidays!!! I'm back home and it feels good, so good, not having to get up early and being with my all-time friends and family Smile

My colleagues always have a snack for Christmas, last year I missed it because I was ill but not this year, it's fun, telling stories and knowing each other better is always nice.

I still have to put up the Christmas tree.. I always wait until the last minute.

Oh! And my friends and I are doing secret Santa this year, it's fun!! Big Grin

Your Christmas tree isn't up yet? What??? Tongue

Can't wait for Christmas day now! Doing drinks with friends on Christmas Eve which will be awesome. My NYE plans have now been formulated, going up to Sheffield for a night out at what my friend describes as "The grimiest, dirtiest and most slimy but also incredibly awesome club he's ever been to".

Should be fun. Big Grin

Christmas Day will be spent with good friends and lots of eating and far too much drinking. I tend to do my annual visit to church on Christmas Eve for the midnight carol concert (midnight mass) and love to listen to all the carols and the Christmas story.

Merry Christmas to everyone on the Spooks forum!

Well I'm back from Uni for a week.

I've met up with some friends in the pub and have spent Christmas and Boxing day in the house with mum, dad and brother watching films.

It's not really a big deal for us and I miss my uni friends so I'm looking forward to going back after I've seen one more special friend and my grandparents. Smile

Does anyone else just stay in on NYE? In Australia especially everyone seems to head out - I read an article last year that basically said we have 3 times as many people crowded into the Harbour foreshore in Sydney as most big cities except that the Harbour foreshore is about a quarter of the size of space used in other cities.

I don't know, I guess it's because when I go out I like to go to places and with people where I can hear them talk and not get charged an extortionate amount for drinks or food.

I usually stay in too. All pubs and bars in Sevenoaks are ticket only, so you need to purchase a ticket before New Years. You can not even nip in for a quick drink after 6pm. I am not one for planning a whole evening at a single pub so they can go whistle.

I have a bottle of champagne saved and I will cook a nice meal. Text friends at midnight and then go to sleep. It may sound boring to some, but at age 37, it just hits the right note. Wink

I stay in because I'm already skint from Christmas and can't afford new years. Tongue

It's not really much of a big deal though. It's just a day the same as any other. I think I'll stay in and write resolutions I'm not likely to keep instead. Big Grin

Weeelll, does driving 759 miles to visit my mother count as "out"? Silba

As it is I will be celebrating at my mothers house with family I only get to see once or twice a year. But no pubs.

I did NYE in Times Square once and that was plenty, thankyouverymuch!

Not sure if it does, AC Tongue

I'm having dinner with my family as I did on the 24th and then we will eat our 12 grapes as the clock chimes 12 and afterwards party with friends!!! I couldn't go out last year because I was ill so I'm looking forward to it! It's true that most places are crammed with people... but I know some places Wink We will have one drink in a bar and then head to a private party, it's hold by a friend of a friend so it's going to be fun!
