The thing is that Ruth wants Harry to come over to her place to talk to this guy but at first she didn't tell Harry why, so Harry think Ruth wants something else Wink lol I didn't remember that scene!

That's in the episode as well though. It's in 4.5 - I love that Ruth's phone is green.

Yes it's in the episode, but I couldn't remember until I saw it, and thought it was great, now I watch it with other eyes, and Harry was wonderful in that scene, he made me laugh so much this afternoon when I watch it!!

I like the phone too!! I want one!! Smile

I have moved my comments to here from the episode 5 discussion thread. Some of us have commented on our fears about how the H/R relationship is or is not being played out in series 8 and that we may have seen the best scenes this series already. I had one after thought though and that was regarding the opening titles and the clip where Ruth turns round to face the camera. I will put my comments in tags as it obviously relates to a future episode as this clip has not been seen yet, although my comments are only speculation and some finger crossing:

Ruth looks all glammed up in this short clip, her hair is straight, and is she wearing earrings? Also she appears not to be on the Grid as the background is white walls. She looks a bit out of sorts like she is moving away from someone and she then turns back to face them. She looks a bit shocked like the other person has just told them something important. Something to stop her in her tracks. As I say, a bit of finger crossing.....one to ponder

I've had a look, Tea Lady, and sadly I must disagree. I think

Ruth is actually on the Grid, and she does not look particularly dressed up to me. There are definitely no earrings.
But I will be very happy if I'm wrong about this.

I will also be extremely happy if I'm wrong about what I said in the episode 5 thread, that I suspect we're not going to get any more Ruth/Harry scenes that address their relationship. I base this on what PF said in one of his interviews

namely that the writers ignored the relationship in series 8 but that he and NW managed to get a few meaningful looks in. Sigh, if this is true and they don't make a series 9 I will be seriously pissed off.

Well she is walking away from someone and then turns around to face him/her looking somewhat uncomfortable, but that's about all I got from this clip. There's not enough from what I can see to determine where she is -- she does look to have a black coat on but Ruth frequently has a coat on in the grid scenes.

Silktie, where did you see the interview with PF in which he talks about the H/R relationship in series 8?

I also read that article but I wasnt sure whether the article had reported what PF had said correctly, in that he was referring to how they had originally played out their relationship against what the script writers had planned. Ok, getting hopes up again.

I just dont see the POINT (getting angry) in bringing Ruth back if R/H relationship is going to be ignored by the writers and we have to wait another year, if at all, to see them get together, possibly, maybe....HUFF !!

But would you really want it to be rushed? I kinda like the storyline stagnating occasionally.
