Yes, but that's "internal" punishment -- nothing about that incident was shown in his record. In the Fortescue situation, an official reprimand shows on R's record.

Ah. Ouch. Maybe someone from outside the department already knew in Ruth's case, so he had to punish her, whereas they didn't for Danny?

Nah, I agree with Silktie -- he was overcompensating for his feelings toward her. I think he was also a little jealous and wanted to warn her off other men, although this was taking it to somewhat of an extreme!

I like to think he was jealous Shy

And this was his only way to show he was pissed off about it. Of course, as she really didn't know that's what it was about, seems to have been a Pyrrhic victory!

Re: our favourite couple, I came accross fanfiction.net the other day and I was wondering if any other members on this forum read this and could recommend any of the Harry/Ruth stories? I read one last night called "The Course of True Love." I think it took me about 2 hours as there were 27 chapters but it followed on from Ruth leaving in 5.5 and Harry's attempts to find her.

I like that story. I also like TLC, which is beautifully written. northernexposure is my favourite writer on there, and she wrote a version of what might have happened in Baghdad which I really enjoyed.

RE: [spoilers] Harry and Ruth - Silktie - 21-01-2010 04:36 PM

Seconded, Baghdad is really good. My favourite writer on there is Laurie M, I think she captures the two characters best of all. Apart from hers, there are two other stories I recently read and really enjoyed, namely Alone and Lonely by pretentious-emo-kid, and Redemption by Rambling Scribe.

What sort of stories do you want? Fluff? Humour? I have a list of all my favourites saved onto a Googledoc, the HR shippers do a good job on fanfiction.net (but sadly can't compete with all the RA shippers on youtube Sad ).

RH stories I quite like are Not Naive (AU set during series 7, can't remember exactly when, quite angsty) as well as Twelve Days until the End of the World and New York New York, the endings of which are really angsty and I probably cried through the end of them but I love them. As for more upbeat ones there are so many, my favourite being the Senior Pros, not overly HR but still good. (By my rant on this you can probably all guess where I spend most of my time Tongue)

A bit off-topic here. I have an issue with fan fic, I love reading it, but my head keeps saying, this has not happened Tongue (Stupid head always spoiling fun).
Don't get me wrong, I like reading it, but I don't like reading too much fan fic. (If that makes any sense...). One every week is fine Wink

Ok, I'll read the ones you say that are good Wink (Just for the sake of killing my withdrawal sympthoms Silba)
