You hit it right on the head. It's come to a point where I'm expecting it now, and I'm left numb by it. The only exception recently being Ben's death, which was shocking.....in a good way.

Yeah, in a "look behind you! You big dope, you should never take your eyes off her! Harry said you were CLEVER?!" kind of way.

I've been thinking - I think they might not have wanted to introduce another main this season because of Sarah, who is pretty much a default member of the main cast this season anyway. Not to mention the plot heavy storylines going on in season 8. So that could be another reason why they're so "understaffed".

You could very well be right, but the emptiness is so obvious. Maybe they just didn't think it through all the way?? My guess, though, is that its all down to budget issues.
