Well the way things are going this year, I wouldnt be surprised if the whole of Section D spent Christmas at Tring.

You may just have something there, Tea Lady.Sad It's been a tough year for everyone on the Grid . . . and it's not quite over yet.

What do you think Harry got Ruth for Christmas? (This was born of speculation on the H/R thread that Harry's present buying skills are below par sometimes.)

I had that moment of truth thing today where I realised just how close Christmas really is. And it freaked me out. It always does.

Good question. It's her first Christmas back after 2 1/2 years and whatever he might choose would have to have some special meaning. How about a new funky necklace to replace the one she seems to have lost. Or a rare, first-edition collected works of romantic poetry. Or tix to a Broadway show, as the first stop on their Grand Tour. Nothing too over-the-top, you understand!Wink

He's done the poetry thing before. He gave her Ovid the last birthday before her exile.

Harry jewellery shopping could be very funny. Especially in Christmas chaos.

Yeah, I can see it now -- H in some VERY expensive, exclusive London shop trying to find a piece of jewellry that would suit Ruth, driving the shop assistant crazy because H wants to look at everything in the cases. Not finding anything, he tries to explain to the assistant what the last necklace looked like and the assistant says, in a very snooty way, "I'm sorry, sir, but we wouldn't have anything like that in this shop." At which point, H yells a few deleted expletives and storms out.

The irony is she'd probably love something from Camberwell markets.

Does Ruth love snow at Christmas? I think so.

I'm not sure Harry has EVER been to Camberwell markets. The thought of buying someone a present there would probably seem sacreligious to him. LOL

She can have all the snow she wants, as long as she's not anywhere near me!Tongue

Maybe a new cat, as he doesn't want to part Fidget and Scarlet?

Maybe we should rethink Harry's present buying skills though, as according to his diary he gave her some real thoughtful birthday presents. Apparently he can buy great gifts if properly motivated.Big Grin
