We're doing Christmas at home. We have two kids. My daughter is almost 6 and my son is almost 3. They're fun ages for Christmas. They have advent calendars, but they have toys instead of chocolate.

I'll probably be cooking Christmas dinner.

Bertowud, your Christmas sounds very much like mine. We have three children aged 10, 6 and 3, hubby will cook lunch while I spend all day assembling various toys and fitting the batteries !

Then persuading the children to go for a walk mid afternoon for some fresh air, after watching the Queen of course.

I have to put the toys together too.

My wife will help with the dinner though.

Being 'At Home at Christmas' is what it is all about - definitely the best part of Christmas !

Do you have a Christmas speech made by the Queen? Here in Spain too, but of course by the King Tongue

What do you have for Christmas dinner? (I'm very nosy, I want to know!)

Having children for Christmas is awesome. I really miss putting things in the kids' sacks, playing Father Christmas. The youngest in our family is 16 so we're past that now. But there are still young children on my mum's side in the evening, some of whom I haven't met yet.

I don't miss being woken up at 5am though!

I used to think my family was the only one who fought at some point on Christmas Day but I recently discovered it's quite common. Or maybe it's just the heat.

I love Christmas until about 2am on the day itself.

What does Leicestershire Christmas entail Nitrus?

Lashings of food, fun, alcohol & great TV! Tongue

We've never fought at christmas, that's why I love it so much, everyone just gets along, strangers say hello to you in the street, everyone is happy.

Love it. Smile

Christmas always seems to contain lots of "Food, fun...& great tv"! I can't say that I agree with the alcohol part, although some people in my family do seem to drink a lot when it comes to Christmas...

Mine is pretty boring - church the night before and then the next day my mum's family come round and we unwrap presents and invariably end up watching Doctor Who at least once Big Grin (on particularly memorable occasions I end up watching an old episode with my cousin, who's about 7 or something, and then the new Christmas special in the evening Big Grin) We don't usually bother with the Queen's Speech or with a walk afterwards...

My dad is always argumentative whenever we have people round. He gets really stressed out about it, even if it's just my mum's family, so he's normally in a bad mood before they arrive, but is fine when they do arrive. The days when we have people round are one of the few times my dad clears up.

I think my sister is just young enough to believe in father Christmas (she's 11,) although whether she does rather depends on if my one of my other sisters told her that he wasn't real, and that they knew where the presents were hidden...

So maybe if my family drank......
