My christmasses are very boring haha, my whole entire family (great aunts, distant cousins, everyone..) go round to my grandparents and just eat a lot and drink a lot... Every christmas I have a very heated arguement with my uncle about fox hunting (he goes to the boxing day hunt every year
) and me and my sister usually argue about something pretty insignificant, well that really isn't just Xmas more like everyday 
This year I am more looking forward to New Years
My first ever house party whilst my parents are away Although it will of course be a very controlled and responsible affair

Your house party sounds awesome! Are you having a theme? You should, dress up compulsory. And send out invites, because it seems much more of a big deal if you do.

The best New Year's Eve I experienced was in the Scottish Highlands many years ago -- Hogmany!! All other New Year's celebrations pale into insignificance once you have had a 'real' Scottish New Year. There was fabulous food, including fresh salmon, more whiskey than I have ever seen before or since. The nicest part is the custom of 'first footing". It is considered to be good luck if the first visitor to the house in the new year is a dark haired man. (I'm not sure how that came about.) Because we were in a small village I went with my uncle -- a dark haired man -- to visit a number of houses of the older people in the village who didn't go out to the party. Great thing to do. I remember it being soooo COLD, but one of the best things I've ever done at New Year.

I think our Christmas lunch is fairly typical....my husband has roast turkey,bacon & sausages,(I have some sort of nut roast) and roast potatoes, new potatoes, roast parsnip, mashed swede, stuffing, peas, carrots, brussel sprouts, gravy. The children then cover it all with ketchup (but who cares it's Christmas) !!

Brussel sprouts at Christmas? That's a bit rough! I love veggies but can't get next to sprouts.
The rest of it sounds bloody marvellous. What's a nut roast? Is that for you because you're a vegetarian?
I think Harry would be more of a baked ham fan than a turkey man.

I adore brussel sprouts haha
But for xmas dinner I usually eat spaghetti bolognaise lol not very traditional
the rest of my fam all have the traditional meal though 
And my party is 80s themed

Music at Christmas tends to be whatever is playing on Radio 2 (sorry, that's because of my age
) or the kids will put on Bob the Builder !!
