I'd accept it as a Season 8 DVD extra - a full featurette on the tattoos, plus we get to see them being applied, obviously RA in as few clothes as possible as he did say the tattoos smudged easily.......

Lucas has different tattoos on the right wrist in different episodes.
In the 7 series it's "ВЯХ" in russian. But in the series 8, episode 5 when he speaks on the phone while sara is
sleeping, he has tattoo "МЕХ".
"ВЯХ" - russian poisonous plant.
"МЕХ" - fur.
I've searched these words in russian tattoos sites but there is nothing. And so I agree with "grom_ko"

It is great to have some Russian speakers having a look at the tattoos ! It is interesting that you noticed the tattoo changed, I had not noticed that. There has definitely been some continuity problems with the tattoos.

Interesting, I'd like to know why he would have tattoed the name of a poisonous plant or 'fur' for that matter.

sometimes it might be bad quality of the image or sloppy application of the tat (I initially read the мир he's got tattoed down south as кур, which wouldn't have made any sense) but I guess the make-up artists reckon that one cyrillic letter/word looks just like the other and didn't factor in the armies of eagle-eyed observers... maybe that too will change in season 9 (come one, someone out there must be reading some of what we write here?!?)

The tattoo continuity has been poor – both in positioning and density of colour – not, of course, that I was making a particularly close study…!
I didn’t spot the complete change of symbol though – well caught Murarik
I also thought Lucas had a change in character from S7 to 8 – but please correct me if I’m wrong here. In S7 Lucas often had rolled up sleeves with the movable band on view and only appeared self-conscious of it with Elizabeta – in S8 for no apparent reason he suddenly becomes much more coy – full sleeves at all times (although watchless in the swimming pool showing the five dots on the left wrist). I’m now suspecting having read this thread that it was motivated by continuity issues not character ones.
I would offer to be standing by next series with a marker pen, wet wipe and magnifying glass but suspect I can’t run fast enough to get to the front of the queue for that job!
