And if there is to be a series 9 then can we have it back to 10 episodes, please? Or will they compensate for the truncated runs of series' 7 and 8 and give us 12 episodes? Just a thought....

I've been quite quiet on here of late, Tea Lady, so I thought I'd come back and generally demand lots of things!Rolleyes

And why not. I wonder if the writers at Kudos do actually look at these sorts of threads? I wouldnt be surprised if they did. I know they leaked information to the "other" website about series 8 spoilers mid year. They must sneak a peak, so demand away ! Big Grin
Oh, I would like to see Juliet back. I know some people hated her but I loved her style.

I don't think Ruth has been allowed outside since Jo died she definitely needs a decent storyline that doesn't involve holding bits of paper. Perhaps stick her and Lucas on an Op together and Harry will get jealous and finally make a move. Would still really like more info on Lucas' time in Russia, did Elizaveta believe him to be Russian too? She calls him Lucas yet it's not a very Russian name. What did she think he did for a living. Completely love the idea of Alan Rickman as HS Beatriz!! Maybe instead he can be a new Jools?

Yeah, thanks Tea Lady! I think they must sneak the odd peek at these sorts of places; after all, there's enough intelligence and ideas being suggested on here to quench the pen-thirst of the most blocked of Spooks script writers Big Grin

As for series length, well it was a brave decision to go from 6 to 10 episodes after series one so why not stay with that format? Eh BBC? EH?! Tongue

yes I agree. I still dont feel we know Lucas enough. His relationship with Harry and Ruth has not really been explored or tested to any great depth in my opinion. Harry and Lucas in the field together would be good. Cant quite see Ruth being in the field more but she does have a new found confidence so maybe. With staff shortages being as they are they will probably all have to chip in. Harry will be cleaning the loo's in series 9 probably....

If there's budget shortage, why not having more scenes in which we learn more from a charater or interation between them, rather than lots of explosions. They should come back to the old style (previous series)

Yeah Beatriz, good point. The ERIE exercise episode from series 2 must have cost very little to make (when compared to other episodes) but thanks to the writing (Howard Brenton?) and performances it remains a favourite of mine.
