While I guess that Lucas will get more stable mentally in season 9 I could actually see them bring in a brand spanking new Section Chief who is totally uptight, and by the book, and clashes with Lucas all the time. And Harry has to bail Lucas out (although that would look suspicious after the third time..)
As for Lucas being his illegitimate son ..ROFL - I think Harry is a week or two too young for that.. and his leniency might stem from feelings of guilt and remorse.. I still can't shake the feeling that he is (partly) to blame for the Russian holiday..

LOL and I also have the suspicion about Harry betraying Lucas.

Also, Adam was insubordinate more than he was subordinate and Harry put up with it, pretty much making the calculation that the creative thinking was worth it in the long run.

After rewatching 8.1 (again Tongue) I can definitely see Lucas as section chief. Watching him there he seems more in charge than Ros was and even though it was before Sarah started to mess him up now that she is dead there is no reason he can't make an excellent section chief Big Grin

No reason except another woman crossing his path. Tongue

and looking at Ros' example, there's nothing that says Lucas can't be Section Chief AND run around shooting/kicking/threatening people..
he could give himself orders and then not follow them... I'd pay to see those conversations Smile

Some people just shouldn't date. I think Lucas might be one of them. Which is a pity because he's a really loving, kind person, but it just seems to make him loopy at work. And his track record's not very good.

But surely if he didn't date it would be a great loss to all women Wink haha

Actually, there are more of us watching on TV and in the forums who'd be served quite well if he stayed lonely and depressed forever. (Did I really just write that?)
