I was a huge Connie fan, and I reckon she gave him whatfor.
The trouble is that replacing Ros with a woman just invites difficult comparisons. Which is why I think Ros should stay.

Yes, it won't be a good thing to compare the new woman with Ros, but I do think Ros will stay, and Lucas won't have to be section chief.

I like that picture better too, Beatriz. I've been thinking TPTB will make her survive (plus HS for all of you HS-likers
) but it go 'Adam-Lucas'-like, in the first or second ep she will 'hand-over' her position. Maybe they show in this first couple of ep a composed and focused Lucas who can regain Harry's trust, although conflicted Lucas is growing on me, I'd would like for Lucas to show emotions next season, just as he did with Elizaveta in S7, not become cold-Ros-like from previous seasons just so he can fit Chief section position.I don't think I'd like a young man to come in as Section Chief, I don't see a twenty-something or less-than-thirty man giving orders around to Ruth and Lucas...for young I'd like Tariq to gain more attention and his character to be developed.
I think we need more women, if Ros should be replaced by another person besides Lucas, I'd like another woman. Yes, there'll be comparisons between her and Ros, but that could be the interesting thing, I mean, if she's been recruited, she must be good, so she'll prove it over some eps.

Lucas as Section Chief ?? Are you all bonkers !! He isn't man enough. Ros will replace Harry as Section Head. Harry will loose a few pounds and become operational again and be demoted to Section Chief. Zoe will reappear after her 10 year holiday and Harry and Zoe will be the new field officers. Lucas will help the Tea Lady make the tea.

Seriously, I think I'd prefer Lucas in the field, he'd get more action and I somehow think he's better (not) following orders than giving them. But I have a hunch that Ros returns....

I don't mind seeing Harry hurt just so long as it's all resolved in one episode and I don't have to wait 10months, and of course he survives.
Yes Lucas is good at following orders, especially from a woman. I think there will be a new Section Chief if Ros goes and it wont be Lucas.

Yeah, that sounds like a good idea.
Ros could be back but possibly with a broken arm or in a wheelchair for a few episodes so they could have someone as a temp. I like someone's idea of a younger person so they would have trouble taking orders from the wonderkindt.

Hehe. I'm really surprised to see so much resistance to the idea of Lucas being Section Chief. Again, I go back to Series 6 and the way Ros nearly destroyed the team with her Yalta connections. If you had told me one year later Ros was going to be running the grid, I would've laughed at you. But you know what? They made it work.
That's how I see this situation with Lucas, even though I don't think what he's done is nearly as combustible as what Ros did.
My dream scenario would be to see the show bring in two new officers, similar to Zoe and Zaf, to work alongside Lucas.
