It would have to be between Ross and Fiona. Anna doesn't even fit the equation, she would the be the sidekick category option

Roz was too good for Adam and Anna was a little blankety-blank, so Fiona wins by process of elimination.

Before I get logged out against my will again. I keep logging in and getting the message that I have successfully logged in and then see the login sign again. I am shocked that I managed to get in this time.

It's just my old system and old browser, not any problem with the forum. I am able to read and don't have much to say but it's still very frustrating.

I have to say I wasn't sold on Adam with either Fiona, Ros or Anna!

Fiona was a bit personalityless for my liking

IMO there was no chemistry between Adam and Ros

Adam/ Anna was clearly going nowhere from the beginning

All in all since Series 4 when I started watching I think the writers make really bad choices about which characters they throw together romance wise in Spooks and put people together who seem really unnatural together

Take for example Adam/ Ros or Lucas/ Sarah - no chemistry there and it seemed really forced

They also ignore relationships where there is chemistry - Harry/ Ruth started as the actors choice to play the roles like that and it took about 2 series of the actors working it into their characters before the writers picked it up - rather slow IMO.

Or take Jo/ Ben - no chemistry there and they ignored other relationships which would have worked better romance wise like Jo/ Zaf. Even Jo/ Adam would have worked quite well.

I think they touched slightly on Jo/Zaf. They apparently cut a scene where Jo said yes to moving in with him at one point. I've also heard that Jo had a sort-of crush on Adam to start off with and someone said 'you do know he's married?' to her. Also cut though i think. (Probably heard it in the commentaries or something).
However i do think they subtly went there regardless, as Jo only trusted Adam after the whole S6 ending event and how shook up she was about Zaf early that series.

Jo's reaction to Ben's death was probably under-played and i agree with you on that one. They started off as something then forgot about it. After he died she had about one line to do with it and it was swept under the carpet. Confused

I do see what you mean about the relationships in the show though.
Lucas/Sarah is one of the worst for me but I really think that the worst was possibly Tom/Vicky. That was a total waste of time.
I also think that Adam/Ros could have worked alot better if it wasn't so rushed and skimmed over in the one series. Fiona was safe i think.

Hope that makes sense and isn't just rambling.

Yeah, take your point about the little hints of Jo Zaf and Jo Adam but this was so underdeveloped as to be virtually non existant and meanwhile we have had to suffer through all sorts of (what is in my view) horrible pairings such as Lucas Sarah, Adam Ros and Jo Ben.

This just annoys me - Spooks producers please lift your game! Instead of just writing pairings why don't you try them out through some scenes to see if they actually work first. You're supposed to be professionals!

I'm really tired of seeing couples on screen in Spooks that just make me swirm. The past season of Spooks has not been the shows best and if they subject me to anything like Lucas Sarah in the future I don't know if I'll have the patience to remain a loyal viewer

On the other hand, it's like that in real life, there is chemistry but opportunities get lost in the shuffle or there is just a shallow attraction that plays out and goes nowhere.

As for the theatre aspect of it all, it is more dramatic to have people struggling to get together, like Ruth and Harry, than being all lovey dovey, like Adam and Fiona. I hasten to emphasize, good for drama but bad for real life.

Yeah, my point was really that I don't buy some of the relationships they serve up on Spooks - I don't even buy that there is enough attraction there for characters to sleep with each other, even for a one night stand (eg Adam/ Ros and Lucas/ Sarah) because the actors don't look like they are enjoying themselves at all!

That's what I mean by no chemistry and the relationships seeming forced. It's not about the characters being attracted to someone who is wrong for them it's about me as the viewer not buying that they are attracted to each other in the first place.

Adam's relationship with the baby sitter was the best of them all. I liked that she called him a coward for not taking things further. Obviously they had sex but she saw the possibility of an emotional relationship also. Adam didn't want to step out of his comfort zone and it was probably still too close to Fiona's death.

Jo's relationship with Adam was initially a schoolgirl crush, but it smartly evolved into a very effective "Big Brother/Little Sister" scenario. That's how I saw it, anyway.

Sorry to step in guys, but the conversation is drifting a little. Try and keep it to Ros, Fi or Anna. Feel free to start a thread in the character/actor forum re: Jo/Adam/Zaf.
