You have plenty to look forward to then if you have only seen from series 7.

I wonder what you thought of how the Russians and the FSB were portrayed in series 7?

I started to watch it since 7 series because there was Richard Armitage
and now when i have finished to watch 8 series i'm going to start season 1 =))
Honestly I was surprised at russians in spooks. I think filmmakers have a lot of stereotypes about Russia )))
Nowadays Russia is a quite different. And what about the FSB... I think they were portrayed quite nonprofessional.
And also there are very bad russian language, a lot of mistakes in series.
In spite of this i like spooks very much, the main crew is brilliant )))

are you able to translate what Maria Korachevsky says to Lucas when he goes to meet her in her flat in Russia? Lucas gives her a ring and then an apology from Harry. Maria then says something in Russian and Lucas replies something like "if you love someone everything is understood." I just always wondered what she said?

Yep, i watched it.

Maria: "when you love someone everything is understood" - she said it in russian and then Lucas only replied it in English.
Lucas: "when you love someone everything is understood"
Maria: "Gorky".

Gorky was the russian writer. She meant that Gorky was author this phrase.
And in the end:
Lucas: thank you - in russian
Maria: not at all - in russian
