Not that related to the actual episode but I couldn't help thinking of Spooks today because all the papers and news were full of reports about one of the 2 Swiss hostages having been handed over by the embassy to a Libyan prison yesterday (reportedly after threats to storm the embassy which other European diplomates caused to turn up at the embassy to show support) while the other hostage (of Swiss / Tunesian nationality) was released. Both had been held in the country since July 2008 if I remember correctly.
Anyway, apart from the actual events sounding like an episode from Spooks it just made me think of this episode in particular and how in this one we can feel that it's been a few years since it aired. Back then they were still trying to get back in touch with the Americans, nowadays all sanctions have been lifted and aren't they even heading some sort of UN council this year?
On another sidenote... Reportedly, Ghadafi proposed that the UN vote to abolish Switzerland as a country and join the respective language areas to Germany, France and Italy. This somehow never got onto the official tractandum lol

I agree with Tea Lady and Silktie that Tom and his personal life are becoming too prominent. I find it unbelievable after just managing to stop Vicky from destroying his career, Tom starts another relationship straightaway.

This was one of the least memorable episodes of s2 for me, but having said that I still enjoyed it. I think it suffered though from coming straight after the EERIE episode.
Generally speaking, s2 is my fave series so I like all of the eps.
