I am new to SPOOKS/MI-5 but I am hooked. The first show with the anti-abortion leader almost lost me because the U.S. Southern accent on the actress was so...BAD!

Watched Season 1 - 3 on streaming video via Netflix, and then 4 - 6 came via Netflix DVDs. I am on the long wait list for Season 7, but I have been able to catch some sections of Season 7 and 8 on youtube. Editing seems to be alot faster on Season 8 so I am not sure I like that -- plus my American English ear has a hard time following the Brit English. LOL

Love the 'anti-American' bent of the MI-5 writers though - CIA personnel are such dweebs on the show.

Totally agree with you about the accents, it's something many Spooks fans complain about, me included. Smile

I am living in Alabama -- it is in the south eastern part of the U.S. -- home of the U.S. Civil Rights movement of the 1960's, and Alabama football fanatics.

My favorite characters from MI-5 are Ruth and Ros - They are written as opposites I guess - but I find them very similar.
Series season 8 Spoiler: show
I was sad to see the Jo character exit - but I guess she had no where to go/grow with Ros there.

I really like ALL the characters -- they are allowed to have personalities. My favorite epsiode of those that I have seen is

between the one Ruth left the show the first time on - and the one where Adam and Ros almost drowned in the explosion in the dam area (thought the cinematography was amazing).

arattitude, I just added some spoiler warnings to your post. Not a big deal, just make sure you read the spoiler warnings carefully.

Like your choice of fave characters! Ruth and Ros are pretty great.
