I just realized something about Zaf's death. Maybe I am making a mistake and it was actually explained but when he was taken by the redbacks he was kind of dying from this virus thing. I kind of wonder how he actually healed from it considering he was taken by two psychos that probably weren't keen on bringing him to a hospital full of police and mi5 to get him the antidote... Adam was pretty much dead when he recovered the antidote and he got infected much later... just wondering stupid things while waiting for the new season, I know Tongue

Yeah, but Adam was obviously a wimp Tongue And it says that they got killed and taken by another team who would have known of the value of keeping him alive, so would have given him the antidote to keep him alive so they could torture information out of him.

But wasn't the antidote really hard to get, with only one country having it ? I could be wrong, haven't watched that series for a long while.

I think they would have managed to get an antidote, one way or another. I think price wouldn't really matter for them, as the information that Zaf knew was worth much more.

I think handily the writers didn't provide us with a solution to how Zaf survived to be tortured & eventually die, the evil rotters. Wink I'm guessing like some of you above, the Redbacks had access to the antidote via Bob Hogan so they could cure Zaf to extract extremely valuable intel. Once they'd done that, it was curtains for our poor boy! Sad

haha i said this on another spooks forum, he would have dies within 18 hours. No way Hogan had the antidote

RE: Zaf's death - almh - 25-09-2009 06:47 PM

Why not? Why couldn't Hogan have been able to access the antidote?

The handling of Zaf's death is probably the biggest mistake in the show's history, just ahead of the lack of development between Zaf and Jo.

They set up the mystery of his death as a potential running arc throughout the series, but then they just sort of dropped it, only to bring it back and confirm what we already feared. It was a huge disservice to Zaf as a character, IMO.

Agree Zaf's death handled very badly and the whole Zaf/ Jo relationship was handled rather bizarrely. Series 4 there was definately a little romance brewing, esp on Zaf's side with all of the "are you going to move in with me?" questions which just got completely dropped with no explanation.

Poor Jo when she found out about Zaf must have been like - I think I like him, but wait I don't really know because the writers never bothered to tell me how I feel about him and there used to be a little romance going on but I don't where it disappeared to or why....(hmm, I'm confused)
