Dodgey Dance-alongs - JHyde - 02-05-2010 11:25 AM

OK, I don't think I've started a break room thread before.

Ashes to Ashes has started a really interesting back and forth between my sister and I about songs that are danceworthy.

What song do you *always* get up and dance to at a party or in the pub?

Take note anyone reading this who is planning to throw a party. You can get your playlist right here!

For me:

Rock the Casbah - The Clash

Tainted Love - Soft Cell

Lots more that I reckon other people will admit to.

Do they have to be dodgy?

Haha awesome thread Tongue I am hoping to have an 80's themed bday party so I shall be keeping an eye on these songs Wink

Me and my friends always love to dance to the song 'Sexy bitch' lol which is a real classic Tongue (Don't worry it is all very tongue in cheek Wink ) A particular highlight is during the line 'neighbourhood whore' when we point at ourselves Tongue)

But more seriously (okay not really) The Time Warp hahaha (although I recently twisted by ankle attempting it on a bouncy castle)

I have a cheesy 80s playlist in the making for my party, highlights I think are:
2-4-6-8 motorway song,Love and Pride, and lots of Duran Duran and Haircut 100 lol

I use the word dodgey loosely. It's more that they usually are dodgey to at least one person.

For instance, 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun' is an awesome song but it makes guys carper off the dance floor faster than anything else.

Tainted Love!! I love that song. And sexy bitch! hahahahahahahaa!!!!

Umm,
Slow Dance - John Legend
Take me out - Franz Ferdinand
No You Girls - Franz Ferdinand

Franz Ferdinand is ALWAYS good for dancing, agreed.

Also The Proclaimers 500 Miles - always a winner.

Lovin' Spoonful - Summer in the City
Gimme Shelter - Rolling Stones
MC Hammer - Can't Touch This

Pat Benetar - Hot Child in the City

Urbandub - Endless, A Silent Whisper
Miasma and the Carousel of Headless Horses - Peacock Heretic(I think I'm the only one who'd even feel dancing to this song)

Great thread!! agree with so many of the ones mentioned - Duran Duran, Tainted Love, 500 Miles, etc

Here is a very short list of some of my "must dance to" songs"
Vueltasss
Walkin' on Sunshine - Katrina & the Waves
Dancin' in the Dark - Bruce Springsteen - (HUGE Springsteen fan! - not always danceable but luv him!)
Summer of '69 - Bryan Adams

A more "dodgey" song I can't resist dancing to...Summer Lovin' from Grease - especially fun when two groups sing the parts to each other!!Silba
