oooh right!! I agree he must have been told what to say; which means they are trying to spread caos among us! This is excruciating, hahaha

My own slightly cynical view is that with RA doing so much publicity for Strike Back, that Kudos are slightly jumping on the bandwagon and dropping all these tantalising hints about the new series of Spooks before filming has even finished.

A friend of mine saw the GMTV thingy as well (I didn't unfortunately) and apparently there was also a tiny excerpt from an RA interview where he talked about working with Sophia Myles before in theatre when he dressed as a banana and how far they have come

And yes, Aria, exactly my thoughts! Also we've all read before how scripts keep changing even after filming started so imagine how much still will/can be determined as they're only half-way through!

can't say I blame them for trying... do blame them for giving me sleepless nights, computing all the implications and trying to figure out who's going to be who or what, and why. The whole Lucas thing has me more than slightly intrigued ..and a bit worried too.
One thing's for sure though - the ratings should be excellent come autumn.

Hmm, for me second last would also be Ruth, I mean there isn't much people to choose from Tongue, we have Tariq which because we have so little (practically none) information about him, I wouldn't put him last; then there's Lucas which is our first option and finally Ruth and Harry. Even I, being 'new' to Spooks, feel Harry is the 'sacred cow' (lol) and so Ruth comes second.

Now, I think each actor tends to talk/reveal about their own character unless they're asked about another and even then, they undisclose less than with their own, IMO. This thought passed my mind when reading your post TL, so my next thought was 'could it really be Harry??' Exclamation

LNF Smile

Edit to add: Thanks mods for your hard work into improving S9 folder

I think that PF is talking about Lucas. The first least likely would be Harry and the second Lucas as he is probably perceived as the 2nd lead actor after PF presuming HN is gone! Also, RA said the revelations about his character pretty much leapt out of the script at him. Also, when Connie turned bad it was really just to make space for the return of Ruth. I don't think that RA will do another series after S9 as he has talked about other work and they have to have other exit strategies besides being blown up or shot.

P.S Could someone please tell me how to the spoiler thing and the smilies. Doesn't seem obvious to me or am I just thick? Polite answers LOL!

What if PF's comment was meant in the wider context of the country's security? Then it could point to a senior politician not being who they seem. The last person you would expect to be a traitor would be the PM, and the second-last then probably the HS.

I hope they go this route, purely because the traitor from within has already been done by Spooks in recent seasons - twice. The Connie storyline from season 7 will be hard to top and I fear it will be disappointing if we have yet another traitor within the team, whoever it might be.

I guess the reality is that while RA is in Spooks, whenever he does an interview he's going to be asked about the show. So even though the main reason for doing press at the moment is for Strike Back, the folks at Spooks would have to realise that RA will be asked about the next season, and I imagine they would have discussed what teasers RA would reveal. And what BIG teasers they are!

Something else that is making me lean towards this theory is the fact that PF also said it hasn't been decided yet who the bad apple would be - this could be because they were waiting to see what happened in your election before committing.

I really like your thinking on this Silktie, a politician being a traitor would be a better storyline.
