Very interesting and frightening article. We will never know how many CIA employees from Langley were killed. It seems that the American assets in Lebanon were the ones who were targeted. "They are nasty countries" to paraphrase Ruth in 2.2 about the treatment of the Algerian agent Khaldun by his own country. Perhaps the American press should reveal to the public and indirectly to the enemy fewer details about the CIA operations in Lebanon and the leadership of the CIA. I know, freedom of speech, but still.

This is a case of the CIA being too arrogant in my opinion. All it took was good old spycraft to link everything together. I would also assume it's probably not as devastating as the papers are making it look. Hezbollah probably did nab quite a few of the CIA's assets but I would assume most of the network in place would have been hidden behind proxies. The fact is that Hezbollah probably had less to do with this than the MINS in Iran. They probably were the ones to piece most of it together, then they let Hezbollah take the credit for it because it would look far more damaging to have a terrorist wing bring down the CIA network than any intelligence agency in the region. The CIA on the other hand can let Hezbollah think it has the upper hand still while reinforcing their position in the region and biding their time.

The radio link was a great listen. We would be naive to not think that this and worse has gone on since the first inklings of Iran striving for nuclear power began. Iran as a nuclear power is scary enough to warrant a full military attack in my opinion.
