So what did people think?

Moffat has this bad habit of letting some of his best scripts lag slightly in the middle but boy, does he know how to make them pay off. Michael Gambon was typically superb and the boy they cast as the young Kazren was great too.

There's such a beautiful symmetry to this script that I loved and maybe I'm biased as a singer myself but given how central music is to the lead up to Christmas for a lot of people I think that the resolution for this story was terrific. I was sorry that Rory and Amy didn't have much to do though. But having Gambon made up for it.

Apparently we're waiting until Easter, which falls late in 2011. I'm excited that Rory is a regular and my assumption is that Alex Kingston will be back for more than just one two parter but maybe another as well. I can't wait.
