It would seem that the nut doesn't fall to far from the tree because, IMO, NCIS is about as close to Spooks as you can get on US TV at the moment. The stories are not quite as politically charged but they are also not as formulaic as the Law & Order franchises. The character work is great. Gibbs is a really intriguing character and Mark Harmon gives a subtly nuanced performance. I have never been a huge Mark Harmon fan so I was pleasantly surprised.
