It was a very long time ago for me. Being a Punk stuck in the middle of a corn field in mid America, just out of sheer bull headed anti-conformism, I almost didn't go. I am glad I did. I got a vintage dress (no meringue!), dyed my hair blue to match, and was escorted by my gay best friend. In fact, my whole circle went with a friend - no dates. Which was great because no one felt that they were stuck with any one person all evening. Its the way to go if you ask me! After we did what creative and resourceful teenagers do in mid America when let loose in a sleepy town all night long. It can't be very different from elsewhere in the world.
