			<title><![CDATA[Tom & Harry, my alternative ending]]></title>

			<description><![CDATA[I've always felt more could have been made of Tom featuring in the final episode, here is how I would have scripted it..<br />
<br />
So Harry visits the house Ruth was going to buy, we see those scenes. Then the car journey with Harry where the Home Sec phone call. Then they cut to the river thames. It's dawn. Very quiet. The city of London is in the foreground. It's a little foggy. We see Harry stood at the river side for a while, his hands in gloves resting on the railings. He looks contemplative. It's a very quiet scene. Only the sound of the river.<br />
<br />
Then the camera cuts to the silhouette of a figure approaching him. It's a slow reveal, and you don't get to see who it is until they speak.<br />
<br />
Tom: Harry.<br />
<br />
Harry then turns and greets Tom, and they both stand together at the river side looking at the city, and the following dialogue takes place:<br />
<br />
Tom: Harry I'm sorry about Ruth.<br />
Harry: Why do we do it?<br />
Tom: Do what?<br />
Harry: This job.<br />
Tom: You once told me we make a difference.<br />
Harry: Ruth made a difference. Me, I'm not so sure. Replace me.<br />
Tom: Harry..<br />
Harry: Replace me as section chief. You're the only one I can trust now. You're the only one who ever questioned what we did, questioned the morality of it all. If one thing can come from Ruth's death, it's a change in direction. I can't watch any more people die on my watch. Not for the wrong reasons. <br />
Tom: Why now?<br />
Harry: I've got to go somewhere. At least wait until I return before you make a final decision. For me… no, for Ruth. I can't send anyone else to put this right. It has to be me.<br />
Tom: Ok.<br />
<br />
And then instead of Harry at his desk, it would have been a scene with Tom flowing through the security door at Thames House as if he never left. The other staff would have looked unsure of who he was. What this meant. And instead of cutting to Tom walking through the garden to the house of the bad guy, it would have been Harry instead. The final shot would have been him walking through the gate.<br />
<br />
--<br />
<br />
Just my own little take on how it could have ended and this seemed like the right place to share it. For me the scene at the side of the river would have been brilliant due to the conversation between Tom and Harry. Seeing them stood together with London towering in the foreground. Two men questioning why they do what they do. It would have been brilliant. But alas, it will have to exist only inside my imagination. <img src="images/smilies/smile.gif" style="vertical-align: middle;" border="0" alt="Smile" title="Smile" />]]></description>

Nothing on Amazon yet. <br />

At this point, although the BBC Canada blurb mentions the extras, I am not sure I believe that. Additionally, it is listed on a few other sites (including BBC America and on nicola-walker.com) as being 2 disks and 360 minutes long. Which implies to me that the region 1 DVD will not include the featurettes, only the actual episodes. Still hoping for the audio-commentaries.]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[One of the extras on the DVD will be the cast and crew voting for the ten best Spooks moments. I thought it would be interesting to see whether the fans would pick the same moments as the cast and crew. So what, in your view, was the best moments over the ten years of Spooks?<br />
<br />
Try and provide the episode it's from, like so:<br />
<br />
1.2: Helen gets dunked in a deep fat fryer.<br />
<br />
You can list as many or as few as you want, and can also motivate your choices if you wish. But let's refrain from criticising others' choices - that's not the aim of this thread.<br />
<br />
So let's hear them!]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[The official line is that part way through Series 10 Kudos felt the programme might be heading towards the end of its shelf life and put it to the BBC that this be the last Series. The BBC agreed. <br />
<br />
I feel it is possible that Kudos was pushed into this. With cutbacks and the fact that this Season had been reduced to 6 episdoes they perhaps thought cancellation was coming anyway and decided to bite the bullet.<br />
<br />
In his excellent Five Live interview Nitrus made the pertinent point that it was perhaps better to go out while the show was still riding high and not eventually fade away with a whimper.<br />
<br />
How do you know know though what the next Seaon will bring? I actually believed that Season 8 would be the last and S9 was so long being confirmed that both it and S10 were a bonus. <br />
<br />
Some may point to the viewing figures for S10 and suggest that interest was waning but I believe these are deceptive. The BBC threw Spooks to the wolves by scheduling it against the immensely popular Downton Abbey. At any peak viewing time there will be a significant number of casual viewers and if Spooks had been say on a Monday or Thursday then while it is, of course, hypothetical I firmly believe the viewing figures would have been 1m+ higher and similar to S9.<br />
<br />
There was quite an interesting Grid and the characters of Erin and Calum could have been developed. I was hoping for some of this in S10 but I suppose with it being the final Series and only six episodes long there wasn't time for this.<br />
<br />
Although I loved Dimitri and think highly of Max Brown I'm not 100% convinced the Spooks role was a suitable one to best showcase his talent.<br />
<br />
There was probably room for one more member albeit a "backroom" one and I presume if it was to continue Ruth would not have been written out.<br />
<br />
But I definitely feel there was the scope for another two Seasons.]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[I've shamelessly pinched this idea from a thread that I think someone started last year about how folks plan to enjoy the last episode of the series (and last ever this time round): are you planning anything big or special, or just unplugging the phone for the evening?! For my part I will be enjoying the fact that I can actually watch it on Sunday evening-normally I work Sundays and have to catch it on iPlayer later in the week. I'll probably settle down with an industrial-sized mug of tea and plenty to eat, but be too engrossed to eat anything until its finished. Afterwards I'll probably call my dad and debate it all with him, and then I'll be seeing you all on here!<br />

			<description><![CDATA[Good Afternoon Guys,<br />
<br />
I’ve just come to say that l’ll be out of touch until Monday as l have work commitments and also a family event to attend. I give you my word though l WILL come back on Monday, probably late afternoon to get gauge some feedback on how you all felt about the finale, also l apologise to the administration people on this site if l have inadvertently caused some people to stray off topic, that was not my intention at all.<br />
<br />
 As l said when l first came l am not used to posting anything anywhere on the internet other than my *dreaded email account!* However as l also said there are a one or two people who wished too extend their thank you for all the support and faith that has been shown to them and their colleagues over the years. <br />
<br />
<span style="font-style: italic;"><span style="font-weight: bold;">So from Nicola and Peter l have a heartfelt thank you too extend to each of you, and from the rest of the cast many thanks for your support and allowing them into your homes and accepting them as part of Section D</span></span><br />
<br />
I hope the people who wanted their nerves settled a little without the use of drink and drugs are indeed more content with their skins and l don’t have too feel l have made matters worse.<br />
<br />
I also hope that those of you who do like speculating on the meaning behind certain things contained within different episodes, have done as l said and<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: medium;"><span style="font-style: italic;">Revisited episode 3 *crucial* from the moment it begins till the end<br />
<br />
Episode 5, car scene after laptop is stolen by Ruth….The heart to heart is a *huge event* Find the meaning?<div style="text-align: justify;"></div>
<br />
Episode 5, Harry’s house *Milk is the point to draw you in* Focus hard on the house, Tells a lot about Harry’s previous 24 hours<br />
<br />
Episode 5, Beach Scene  * Again hugely important….why?*</span></span><br />
<br />
And finally please take your hats off to Simon Russell Beale, if you think he has been outrageously funny up too this point, then just wait you have seen absolutely nothing yet. He is simply bursting onto another planet come Sunday!<br />
<br />
One last thing the very last line is just…………Well you’ll all hear it for yourselves.<br />
<br />
Thanks for giving me your time and allowing me to engage with some of you over the last few days, l have thoroughly enjoyed myself ( l wasn’t sure l would) Enjoy the finale wherever your heart may lie for whatever ending you would like too see, all l can say is it has been worth the long wait.<br />
<br />
My apologies once again too the Administration team, l hope l haven’t given you cause to warn anyone about their conduct.<br />
<br />
PS, This is a wonderful site and a great dedication worthy of the cast of Spooks<br />

Downton Abbey c9m<br />
Spooks 4.62m<br />
<br />
I never understood why some thought that this would be a good time slot for it. I feel it deserved better.<br />
<br />
However 4.62m is perhaps not as bad as it might have been and it will be interesting to see what the final BARB figure is once any of those who recorded it and watch later are added in.]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[Ok I think we might as well start discussing episode 2 if we have anything to say about it...<br />
<br />
Here is synopsis of ep 2 from BBC one so if you want to avoid SPOILERS, DO NOT look under this!!!!<br />
<br />
<div style="padding: 3px; background-color: #FFFFFF; border: 1px solid #d8d8d8; font-size: 1em;"><div style="text-transform: uppercase; border-bottom: 1px solid #CCCCCC; margin-bottom: 3px; font-size: 0.8em; font-weight: bold; display: block;"><span onClick="if (this.parentNode.parentNode.getElementsByTagName('div')[1].getElementsByTagName('div')[0].style.display != '') {  this.parentNode.parentNode.getElementsByTagName('div')[1].getElementsByTagName('div')[0].style.display = ''; this.innerHTML = '<b>Series 10 Spoiler: </b><a href=\'#\' onClick=\'return false;\'>hide</a>'; } else { this.parentNode.parentNode.getElementsByTagName('div')[1].getElementsByTagName('div')[0].style.display = 'none'; this.innerHTML = '<b>Series 10 Spoiler: </b><a href=\'#\' onClick=\'return false;\'>show</a>'; }" /><b>Series 10 Spoiler: </b><a href="#" onClick="return false;">show</a></span></div><div class="quotecontent"><div style="display: none;"> High-level secrets are stolen when Calum is mugged outside Thames House. A random robbery or a theft-to-order? Either way there are lethal consequences for the agents and assets of Section D.<br />
<br />
Calum is attacked by a gang of street muggers during a routine intelligence-sharing exercise with MI6. The laptop he was carrying is stolen, and contains highly-classified information on MI5's undercover assets. Their names are soon plastered all over the internet, making MI5 look incompetent and putting those top assets' lives in danger.<br />
<br />
It is a race against time to stop the next spy being exposed. Tariq scours London's CCTV network, but the muggers are highly trained and have used sophisticated cleaning routes to ensure they remain undetected. Having made an arrangement for her to contact him, Harry meets Elena at the ballet. But the Russian FSB are on her trail, and Elena's own son, Sasha, is forced into drastic - and deadly - action to prevent any revelation of his mother's former life as a western spy.<br />
<br />
The team discover who is leaking their assets' identities onto the internet, only to realise that this is part of a bigger plan to discredit MI5; whoever is attacking MI5 has the backing and support of an international state. Tariq makes a breakthrough, linking the muggers to a surprising third-party. He rushes across London to tell Harry and the team, but will he make it in time?</div></div></div>
<br />
<br />
And here are teasing lines of dialogue from episode 2 taken from Cultbox...<br />
