As most of you know I planned to make some changes to the Spy Game and reset it so the game doesn't get old.

Here's a summary of the changes made:

- Security levels can only be increased by getting missions approved. (this is to help me more than anything, I have a degree to do at some point!).

- You will now receive a PM when a mission is approved or rejected. However I cannot give individual reasons for rejection. I just thought you might like to know when your missions are approved/rejected. (The PM is auto-generated)

- There are now leaders for each Agency, the founding member of an Agency automatically becomes the leader. The leader is now the only person who can upgrade security. The leader can also see a list of all agents and remove them individually. A leader cannot Resign from an Agency they can only Disband the agency, causing all agents to become unrecruited including the leader.

- You will now receive a PM when you are recruited by an Agency. The PM will appear to be from the leader but it is auto-generated.

- I have now incorporated double agents into the game, allowing you to still be a member of your true agency but getting access to information from another agency. If you are a double agent you will see this: http://k.min.us/ilBYKa.jpg just above the missions list for your true agency. As you can see it allows you to sabotage the agency. When a double agent's cover is blown their true agency will show up in the list. Leaders, double agents will show up in your list of all agents as normal agents. To be recruited as a double agent just give your agent code to an enemy agent, they will put it in the recruitment box and then you will be a double agent. You can do all of this while still being a member of your true agency. You do not have to resign from your true agency like you did before.

- Leaders cannot be double agents. (I have my reasons)

- I have added expand/collapse buttons to some of the panels on the dashboard. They will allow you to collapse some of the panels to make the dashboard easier to use. (not so much scrolling when loads of agents are blown and/or leaked).

- You can now create a new Agency from the start screen.

I think that covers all the changes, there might be small changes that I've forgotten.

This is a list of things I am working on:

- Allowing the leader to send a PM to all agents regardless of how many there are. This will be done from the dashboard.

- Allowing the leader to resign from their agency and then choose a successor.

The above are things I will eventually do but take quite a bit more time and I didn't want to delay any further.

Please use this thread for questions about the changes and for reporting any bugs or errors you may encounter.

I hope you enjoy the changes because they took me a huge amount of effort to do for you.

Spy on.

EDIT: Something else I forgot to mention. If I catch you using multiple accounts to get into other Agencies your Agency will be docked massive amounts of points. I have added double agent functionality, there is no need to create multiple accounts.

This thread is for you to ask questions about the missions that have been set. There will also be hints in here from time to time.

Here are some hints for the current missions:

1. Identify this man - "It's about who you know."

2. Inner Sanctum being hacked - "Don't believe everything you hear."

3. Car Registration - "In matters of registration, the government is what you need."

Introduction to the Spy Game

I have made a spy game for Spooks Forum to help plug the gap between series. It's just a bit of fun and a challenge.

If you look at left-hand menu in the User CP, right at the bottom is a link to the Spy Game. If you click it you'll see the start screen which displays your Agent Code.

The game is quite simple, there are a number of Agencies to which Agents are recruited. These Agents have to complete missions in order to gain points for their Agency, these missions can be a number of different things and generally in the format of a question and an answer. Different missions earn different amounts of points for your Agency.

Each Agency has a Security Level which rises and falls depending on what happens in the game, if you complete a mission it will rise, if you fail a mission it will fall and if you add a mission for other agencies it will rise etc etc. You can upgrade your security at a cost of 250 points at any time. Should you security level reach CRITICAL all of your agency's codes will be leaked to the public and this can lead to blown covers.

In the game you can also blow the cover of enemy Agents by obtaining their Agent Code, blowing a cover will also earn you points for your Agency. If your cover is blown you are out of the game and can no longer complete missions until your cover is restored. Covers will be restored regularly by me so you shouldn't be out of the game for too long and once your cover is restored you'll have a new Agent Code and still be at the same Agency. If you accidentally blow the cover of a Agent who works for the same Agency you will lose points.

Once you have been recruited, the Spy Game link will take you to the dashboard, where you can see information about your Agency, the current incomplete missions, the league table for Agencies and Agents whose covers are currently blown, you can also see a list of leaked agent codes which you can use to blow the covers of agents. From the dashboard you can also recruit Agents and blow covers using Agent Codes. You can also resign from your Agency from the dashboard and add missions for other agencies to complete, adding a mission will also raise your security level.

The game is designed to be mysterious, you don't everyone who is in your Agency and you don't know who is in the game. All you know for definite is the Agents whose covers have been blown and the person who recruited you is in the same Agency.

The game is also designed to allow an Agent to be very devious and cunning, for example. You could quite easily become a double or triple agent, sabotaging one Agency while your loyalty is with another. It wouldn't be hard to con an Agent Code out of someone in order to use it later against them.

Please use this sub-forum to discuss the game and feel free to post a thread asking to be recruited and telling everyone what you can bring to their agency. If you have any questions about the game, please use this thread for those.
