I had heard he was in it, but I didn't see his episode. Was a very interesting concept - I don't think I've heard of a deaf actress before, and she was very good Smile

Nia, if you get a chance to watch that episode of Sherlock, it's REALLY good. I just watched it on iPlayer. Fantastic acting and good characters. I take it back about there being nothing on TV at the moment.

I have to say I don't mind Identity at all, though it's not really that good. Not a patch on Spooks or Ashes to Ashes, that's for sure. Still, I like Keeley a lot, and I'm really hoping that she'll play a bigger role in the next episode. I don't like DI Bloom either.

Apart from that there's not much interesting on TV at the moment in my opinion. The main thing I'm looking forward to at the moment is Spooks series 9, and that's still months away Sad

Mad Men season 4 just started with a really good episode. I'm hoping we see more of gun slinging Don this season and more of Peggy and Don sparring. It's my favourite dynamic on the show.

I recently started watching Friday Night Lights and was utterly blown away by the first season. The way the show is shot is really novel and the two adult leads are fantastic. One of the kids' stories in particular really resonated with me, as a lot of the kids on the show are responsible beyond their years and dealing with really adult stuff, in some cases. I'm looking forward to eventually seeing more of it, but it might be a while. What I have seen was outstanding and I would highly recommend it.
Even if, like me, you think gridiron is a dumbarse game.

I also recently went back and watched Buffy and remembered why it was the first adult sort of show I really loved (the show started when I was 13). The first three and a half seasons especially were and are fantastic viewing and it really should have been nominated for serious awards for both writing and directing. I think a lot of people dismissed it as a kids' show or regular sci fi but it's a lot more than that and certainly has a special place in my heart.

Nia, there are deaf actresses out there - the most well known probably being the Oscar winner Marlee Matlin. I think you could pretty much nominate any type of disability and you could find actors in that category. Breaking Bad, for example, currently has one of its leads as a kid with cerebral palsy and Friday Night Lights has people in wheelchairs. I really like shows that include people who aren't in that one, casting call type.

I've heard of Marlee Matlin, but only in passing. Genevieve Barr was the first actress I've seen who is deaf, hence my surprise.

I finally got round to watch Luther, at first I wasn't too convinced with the series but I must say I loved the end of it. Really hope there is a second series, I want to see how all ends.
One of my favourite things about this series is the relationship between Alice and Luther, wonderful acting!

I will see Sherlock next week and I'm thinking about watching Cranford, has anybody watched it?

Cranford is great! I've seen both the first one and the Return to Cranford!

Sherlock will be on PBS this coming fall on Masterpiece Mystery so it's great to get a feeling of how all of you are liking it.

I am currently watching "The Pillars of The Earth" mini-series - a few variances from the book, which is not surprising but still I am totally taken it by it. Matthew Macfadyen is fantastic as Prior Phillip (as someone described him a "hunk of a monk" Wink ) But the stand out performance for me is Ian MacShane as Waleran Bigod - a very very bad bishop....Ian MacShane should win LOTS of awards!!

I want to watch that, but I can't seem to find it on British TV - anyone know if it's over here yet?

Mad Men season 4 just started and it's typically awesome. If you're not watching, you need to start. Bump something else from the schedule.

Torchwood is coming back next year with a new mini-series. They're calling it a 'reboot'.

I loath Cranford. Smile
