There wasnt a trailer - just the confirmation of the next season - so the speculation will start now! They are going to be looooong months to wait

We always have to wait ages! Tongue I don't see how Harry is going to get out of this - it'll be a close shave if he does get through the enquiry, which I doubt he will, but I think that the end of this episode has brought in a new load of ideas for how the next series could work. If that makes any sense.

DANNY - Placements all over the shop. Back up vehicles, chopper support if we need it. Bomb disposal with a signal jammer for Mary’s trademark remote control blasts. And Tom here’s doing the catering. Mate. You are so covered.

If it's a season-long investigation/storyline, then perhaps we may see the return of Tom, Malcolm, Zoe? Perhaps it goes all the way back to when Harry joins Section D, so we may see how Harry meets Lucas, Connie, how Connie sold Lucas out etc. Total speculation obviously.

But I agree, that trailer at the end, was one of the best parts!

Something on the line of Forsith "The Deceiver" with at least 6 episodes would be nice...

what was the continuity error?Huh

I feel pretty emotionally drained now and I've only been watching...!

Glad Lucas relented and took his own life not Harry's, would have liked to have a closing scene to reunite Harry with the others, especially Ruth of course. On the plus side, they're both still alive and assuming NW's in the next series then I really hope the storywriters develop the Harry/Ruth relationship in a positive way. There's too much history between them to just let it dissipate away with a whimper, instead S10 needs to do them justice.

Here's also hoping for a bit more light relief in S10 - ok, there's going to be the usual terrorism plots but please can we have some less serious outtakes round the edges like in previous series? It's true Spooks has a great edge but it doesn't have to be all dark.

My ideal scenario for S10 - Harry survives the review, he and Ruth have a new found understanding, the team foils some other terrorist plot, and the 2 of them bow out together at the end of the series...

Can't go on, must go on

I still in utter shock. I knew Maya had to go but when she did? To be honest even though she was only here as a more minor character I was a bit sad for her, but I knew she had to go... Lucas had to be left with nothing to loose... Was very worried for all in this episode, saw a good bit of everyone (Minus Taraq of course - he never gets much! =[, He just seems to be Section Ds way out of tricky techie situations!)

Also unhappy it's not on iPlayer yet, me want to watch it again?! =D

I wonder if Alec will be coming along for the ride next season? As soon as Harry brought him in I thought ' Lucas' replacement'.

Hmm...so we didn't end up with any explanation for Lucas' change in behaviour and personality, other than that he was just in love, I guess, and was doing what he had to do to get the life he wanted. Have to agree with the idea that perhaps this was filmed before the confirmation of S10; it was the kind of ending that simultaneously allows for another series, and alternatively looks like a sensible finale as well (if that makes any sense!).
Glad that Harry survived; he is probably the one exception to the rule that no character is bigger than the show. Also a relief to see the 'back in 2011' bit at the end. Preferably January 2011 please BBC, just to prevent 11 months of impatient waiting!

Harry had a gash and blood on his forehead in one take, then it miraculously disappeared then reappeared when he had to turn around. I say it was glaring because I noticed it and believe me, I tend not to notice stuff like that.

GAZELLE! RUTH IS ALIVE! haha, we both had the feeling she was going to die... both wrong!
I agree it would have been nice to have Harry go back to office and see his team. to start with I thought Ruth may have been crying because she thought Harry had been shot. Harry also knew he was going to die, or thought so, that scene where he phones Catherine I was just convinced he would be killed because he was saying goodbye

I agree, I hope there's some more Ruth/Harry stuff in series 10 in a positive way, it would be good if they finally just got it together, but part of the fun is the will they wont they senario.

there was a little moment when he saved her in Ep8, an awww moment I saw Wink

I just really hope Harry and Ruth sort everything out, they have a new understanding now, but now Ruth will always hold over him that he saved her instead of the thousand other who could have died, although if he explains Albany was fake and he knew it she may see it in a new light, or she might see it was him playing with lives.

Harry selling out?... Harry knew Albany was a fake, no one else did, but he had to make Lucas believe it was a fake... really he wasn't trading Albany for Ruth, he was trading his time in MI5 for her because now there the investigation in to him because he still sold a secret.
