Yes, S1-4 on Netflix are edited. I thought S5 was as well, but maybe I'm wrong? I ended up getting the S5 DVD (and had it signed by NW herself!!)

alternatively, I/one can rent the DVDs from Netflix (as opposed to watching 'streaming' content).
is that the easy solution ?! for being certain episodes are UNcut..
would someone here be kind enough to post whether there are 2 versions of the DVDs? ?
in which case I'll go back to worrying..

Thank you! I thought I was going crazy rewatching Season 1 on Netflix streaming and thinking there were parts I remembered that weren't in there. The episodes are too long to be what they cut down for US tv because MORE would need cut out...not sure what the deal is there.

If you rent the DVD's from Netflix they are the uncut versions and some of them have the extras. It is well worth renting the DVD's.

I watched the first 5 season on DVD. I am watching season 8 on Netflix (the devil as I like to refer to ) now and all of them are 58 minutes long so I think that they may have fixed this since then. I'm guessing once they secured the rights to Shameless UK and Being Human UK they were able to put the uncut UK versions up. So maybe go back and try again now that they have updated the series.
