Oh I loved the ending to Life On Mars!
I also feel that Doctor who brings out some great ones. Or rather, it did Dodgy

Series 2 and 3 had rather awesome endings, but series 4 was just blugh.

Oh! Ashes to Ashes! Now there is a series who know how to end it, if ever I saw one Tongue

Just to clarify, we're talking more about shows that have actually wound up for good, as opposed to season finales.

It's already been said, I know, but the ending of the UK Life on Mars was perfect.

Wasn't so keen on Ashes to Ashes though Undecided

Really? I loved A2A's ending. I also loved LoM's but A2A felt really right. I also think it explained stuff further about LoM.

Yeah, I don't know, I just felt that parts of it didn't sit right with bits of the series that I loved. Given that I'd spent two series echoing Shaz's thought that

Gene and Alex should 'either kill each other, or get a room
or that Alex should get home, I was a bit disappointed that

none of that happened in the end, and that [spoiler]Alex couldn't stay with Gene
.

That said, I did like the final scene Big Grin And the 'Chariots of Fire' bit Tongue

Believe it or not, it is possible for a TV show to be very good without two of the title characters getting together.

I agree Nitrus! Having said that I do love the ending to Friends Tongue The countless times I have watched it!

I like the Friends finale, but not for that reason. I love the bit wher

One of my favourite endings is "Cheers" - Sam simply says the bar is closed...and you just know that the gang will be back tomorrow.
Also, let's not forget "Newhart"'s ending when

cracks me up just thinking about it Big Grin
Had to go back and add spoiler tags to Newhart - too good to ruin for anyone who has not seen it!

Newhart was a trip. The ending was appropriate, but I was disappointed. I'd watched more Newhart than Bob Newhart. Hi, my name's Larry. This is my brother Darrell. This is my other brother Darrell.

The reason there are two Darrell's is because Darrell used to be named Larry and it didn't make sense to have two Larry's.
