That's so unfair! I've only just got into watching Spooks and now they're ending it?! It's barbaric!!!

Or how about Helen Flynn wakes up from her dream and is about to go on her mission with Tom.. the last ten years have all been her dream! ;-)

I saw the news posted on Facebook this morning on the Save Harry Pearce's Job page. I have posted on there but real life has got in the way a bit this morning. Here goes:-

Spoiler: show
Kudos have made the correct decision IMO. I would have hated Spooks to have gone on too long like some long running Bristish dramas. Also, I agree with others that at least this way S10 is written with the end in mind and we are not left in some hellish cliffhanger limbo, with the show decommisioned between series.

If you consider the normal Spooks fan, watching every autumn then not giving it a second thought until next time, 10 years is a long run. Most of the people I know who watch it are guys who like the action aspect. When this wears thin and becomes repetitive viewing figures will drop. The H/R storyline whilst of interest to us hardcore fans, isn't enough to sustain it and frankly I think even H/R would lose it shine eventually. So out on a high will be fine by me.

Considering the outstanding acting skills of NW and PF, I'm sure they are completely on board with this decision. This is probably our best chance of a happy(ish) ending for H/R. Nicola seems to have used Spooks to showcase her talents as she is always working in a variety of roles between series. When I met Nicola after Seasons Greetings it put things in prospective for me. It made me think that she is such a nice person I wouldn't want her to be typecast as 'Ruth from Spooks'. This decision should serve her well. Peter Firth I think commented himself that the show had come along at what is often a difficult age for an actor. I look forward to seeing him in other great drama now he has made the transition from leading hunk to older, distinguished roles (still hunky though Peter Wink ).

Finally on a lighter note, when I broke the news to the rest of the family I got some interesting responses. From my husband - 'shame the production company responsible for Casualty can't come to the same conclusion'. From my 11yr old Spooks loving daughter - 'maybe they will go for a Harry Potter ending for Harry and Ruth. They could do 10 years later and H/R could be in a care together on Zimmer frames'. THEY ARE NOT THAT OLD I said !!!!

Looks like they are standing either on sand dunes or a grassy hill above a coastal town. Sussex? I can see sand in the background. Harry's tieless. YaySmile

Look, I want Ruth and Harry together as much as any of you, but I'm going to feel cheated if the closing image of the show is them getting together. The show is more than that.

If that's how it will end I hope it's more sophisticated.

Just read the article on BBC and feeling really down now... Really can’t wait till September though, all I can say is that I hope it ends in a happy fashion, I don’t want them to kill off Harry like they have done to so many loved characters..

I even tweeted about it which isn't a regular occurrence these days. Talking about twitter, does anyone know the Official twitter accounts for actors in spooks? They all seem to be fan pages when I search them…

My twitter is @AlexiMadden if anyone is also currently riding the twitter wagon.

*goes to sulk under duvet*

Yes, please, as much as I want Harry and Ruth together I don't want the show to turn all romantic and not keeping the show's philosophy...
