Armitage has been replaced in Strike Back.

BTW Animal Kingdom is a good movie. Bloody though.

That is a shame, loved RA in Strike Back. I think he made be in some episodes, although I think I heard that a while ago, so maybe his commitment to The Hobbit means he can't do any SB episodes.

I would very much love to see Richard Armitage being involved in something to do with Richard III because he is one of the few who, like myself, views him as a much-maligned, rather heroic and romantic figure. He would only be involved in a project that portrayed him in a light that reflected the archives of his own time, rather than from the times of the enemy that overthrew him or the ludicrous Shakespearian version. RA has been keen on this project for years, and if he could get it right and find it a wide enough audience, he could do his namesake a lot of good and make his dad very proud.

Keeping my fingers very much crossed for this.

Okay so now I'm going to have to do some research on Richard III. I do not know anything about him and have never seen the Shakespeare play.

Yeah, I think RA would be wonderful as Richard III! Would be nice to see an un-biased version of events Smile

I'm assuming that his withdrawal from Strike-Back also makes it slightly more likely that Lucas really did meet his demise in 9.8.

More clutching at straws here.

Perhaps as Richard was established in Spooks he could come back for guest appearances, whereas Strike-Back only had one series so far.

I'd be interested to know if you come up with anything unbiased with a bit of research! Especially in this country. Shakespeare wrote in Tudor times and created a fabulous monster who murdered his young nephews to steal the throne. I have a wonderful book called Royal Blood by Bertram Fields that attempts to sift the facts from the fiction. It includes a moving discription of Richard's courage at the Battle of Bosworth where he died. In fact, all the historical documents from the time he lived paint a very different picture from the one I was taught at school. It's a perfect lesson in how history is written by the victors.

This is RA's pet project and I really hope he can pull it off.

Maybe - I've seen before and the 2008 BBC series Robin Hood will return to the site that puts on. Marian boys were killed and perhaps join a monastery or something to be consumed with guilt.Armitage Good to see it be a big play again though - I see the North and South in order to fuss about missing out - but I like it when other things.

Official confirmation that Strike Back returns for a 10 part second series. RA is amongst the cast, but it does not give details of how many episodes he will be in.

If he's in it, even for a short time, I'll be happy.
