I think you may have answered your own question.

I don't presume to speak for bruwitch2 or anyone else, but I think shows are a lot like lovers. You meet someone (start watching a new show) and are soon boring family and friends with how fantastic he (it) is. You're supremely happy at first, but then you start to notice the little things like socks (plots) dropped wherever. You realize his best friend (the main character) is a jerk. Things just aren't going the way you want them to but you tell yourself, everything will get better in time. It's just a rough patch, there's still a lot of good things about it, and maybe you're expecting too much. Things don't get better though, they get worse. Now you start boring family and friends with your complaints about your lover (the show). People ask why you just don't break up with him (stop watching). People might become annoyed with you for not doing so. Yet you cling to the relationship unable to admit to yourself that you'd be better off without him (it). Because then you'd have to find somebody else (another show) or maybe you'll end up alone (have no excuse not to do housework). But eventually, something does happen to push you over the edge, and you're free.

A few years later you run into him somewhere (find the show while surfing channels) and you think "Boy was I dumb to waste years (hours) of my life on this."

Okay, just me then.

Nope not just you Smile I agree 100% Hence why I am still clinging on to this show (that and Nicola Walker is AMAZING and I would be stupid to miss her in anything ever).

I have my doubts about series ten but I'm giving the benefit of a doubt to Kudos because I do love Spooks (it's not my favourite tv show but I love the characters loads and it would be sad to say goodbye).

Guys please stick to the topic at hand. We're discussing rumours for the show, not why we stay with it for better or for worse, for richer or poorer.....

Oh Wylie does make you think....

Last Spooks? People keep saying that, but didn't they say that last year too? Harry going on a journey (!) well we all knew they would bring up his past in series 10, question is will Ruth stick with him in the end? The only unexpected bit was Sophie Myles leaving, I can't remember any other officer leaving after only one series (unless they had been horribly killed!), most actors seem to love working on Spooks. It sounds like they are bringing in more charactors which is good, isn't it?

I don't know why I just have this image of Harry humming as he is floating around on a rowboat in the middle of the ocean....I suppose it could mean he's literally going on a journey...LOL Silba Big Grin

I had that same image!! Haha!

So we defo know it is only 6 episodes long.

Shocked that Sophia Myles has left - there seemed to be no forewarning - wonder if there's an interesting story behind that?

Not shocked tha Sophia Myles has gone. As an actress very good, but the charcter of beth was rubbish and hopefully the next female lead will be a bit tougher.

Not every lead female has to be tough, that's just boring. Why should there be an expectation that females have to be tough? Why can't they be human and vulnerable? I don't think the next female should be this tough person, I want to see humanity in a character, not just toughness, that gets boring real fast.
