A few older ones:

Jamie and the Magic Torch.
Dr Snuggles.
Bod with Alberto frog and his amazing animal band. (I never guessed the right milkshake.)
Dogtanian.
Jason of Star Command.
Benji.
Button Moon.
Words and Pictures. (Still useful for me to watch today.)
Rentaghost.
Littlest Hobo (sniff)
Charles in Charge.
Red Hand Gang (they were soooooo cool.)

I guess you could also count them as children's TV, but I also loved as a child the following (in the 80's most of the stuff was from the USA.)

Chips.
T J Hooker.
Bring Them Back Alive.
Tales of the Golden Monkey.
Matt Housten.
Vegas.
SWAT.

Oh, I loved Jamie and his Magic Torch. That's a real childhood memory of watching that while having my lunch....oh happy days!! When children's TV was on for just hour or two each day......

Ah yes, I loved Tales of the Gold monkey! I remeber having sort of a crush on the lead character (Jake, the pilot) Blush!

I find it funny that I can't remember all of the programmes I used to love as a child, but when I reed the other posts, the lovely memories come back as if it was yesterday!

Haha, I had a crush on him too! Was his name Jake, I can't remember? Big Grin

I also loved Willow The Wisp/Whisp.

I think in the late 70's, early 80's, you had children's TV at lunchtime and then one show just before the 6PM news. Saturday morning used to have a lot of children's programmes as well. I remember getting up to watch Starfleet. That was a cracking show.

I don't remember Starfleet, but I really enjoyed Willow the Wisp, that was narrated by Kenneth Williams wasn't it? With Edna the evil TV, such great children's TV.

Love reading the posts; brings back memories. Here's mine:

Raggie Dolls
Trap Door
Babar (still love watching it Blush)
Gumby (why don't that put that back on??!!)
The Wombles
Press Gang (have all 5 series on DVD and watch/quote them regularly Big Grin)
Captain Planet
Play School
Mr Squiggle
Postman Pat
Fireman Sam
Thomas the Tank Engine (when the fat controller was still called the Fat Controller)
There was a kids quiz show that had the final of each show where the kids had to run through an AMAZING maze to find as many big silver keys as possible. The keys equated to points and the kid with the most points at the end of the show would get a decent prize - the kid that beat all the other kids for that year got a Gameboy n two good games! That was my favourite in late primary/junior high school. Vueltasss

Hmm...my favorite shows when I was young were-

Speed Racer (a bit before my time but they showed reruns when I was young)
Stunt Dawgs
Transformers
Freakazoid
Pinky and the Brain
Animaniacs
Histeria!

Those were the days...I really liked Pinky and the Brain and Animaniacs (probably the most). Vueltasss

"What are we going to do today, Brain?"
"What we always do, Pinky - TRY TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD!"

And the Animaniacs "translations" of Shakespeare scenes were a hoot! My favorite being Macbeth ("Let's cook a snake. Start with my agent.")

They were a bit after my time and before my kids, but they were as fun for a young adult as they were for small children. I think my now grown nephews may have introduced them to me.

As a child I liked The Monkeys, Scooby-Doo, Land of the Lost, HR Puffnstuff (esp. WitchiePoo) and Groovie Ghoulies.

OMG! I remember the Groovie Ghoulies. What a blast from the past A Cousin. Smile

Totally loved Champion the Wonder Horse when I was a kid. I purchased the DVD of the series a few years back. Was bored within a few minutes though. Sometimes things are best left where they were.
