I totally agree with you, Ruth is my favourite female character, perhaps because It reminds me a bit of me (only for her shyness, I would like to be so intelligent!) hahaha

It was very sad (I can't remember clearly I don't know if you can help me) when she told a new member (a man) she was afraid of being alone in her private life, she went to have dinner with him and turned out to be a mole, I'm not sure...

do you remember?

Erm, do you mean the guy that she knew that they got in to help them find a hacker, and he turned out to be the hacker? Who then held her hostage?

Lol, poor Ruth really had no luck in the romance department. When she finally had a chance at a good relationship with Harry, she had to fake her own death! That'll put a damper on any romance...

I don't know, as the saying goes "death is not the end," especially not on Spooks! Wink And I think that they'll both have waited for each other. They better have!

Let's hope Ruth isn't either! Can you imagine the outrage of the fans if they bring Ruth back only to be married/committed to someone else? I can see pitchforks in Kudos' future if that should happen...

Ruth had to leave because, to cut an hour long story short, Mace set her up to a murder, so Harry would have to join his secret committee of torturing lunatics, or else she'd be put in prison. Harry said no, and decided to take her place in prison. Then Ruth was like no, Harry can't go to prison because he needs to help change MI5, so got Adam and Zaf to help her set up evidence that it was her, not Harry, getting Harry out of jail, but to keep herself out of jail she 'killed' herself, with a body that was meant to be hers appearing in the Thames. Harry saw her one last time where they had a little chat, and Ruth stopped him from saying I love you, I meant, WHY??? Then they kissed and she left on a boat, never to be seen again... Maybe.


Or, for a better version, try searching it on wiki or google. But I didn't see any good ones at first glance.

I was re-watching her first episode for the first time in ages last night and noticed what must have been the worst joke Harry ever made.
Ruth: "Am I late?"
Harry: "Well, you're the intelligence officer, you should know".
And then he laughs and Zoe just looks at him.
Maybe abashed from the start?

Although I never bought into the whole Harry/Ruth thing until right at the end of Season 3 when you see their connection immediately after Danny's death.
