I think there is some negativity towards America and the actions of its military and intelligence. This was probably more of an issue during the Bush administration than currently. There was quite a long period during the Bush years when America was seen to be pushing the rest of the world around - in America this may have been reported as America recruiting allies and fighting with them but from the perspective of the outside world there was definitely a you're either with us or against us attitude. It wasn't too long ago that americans were reported as renaming french fries as freedom fries because France opposed their foreign policy.

Currently I think the US is now seen as more moderate but still very powerful - with power comes the ability to use it for good and also to push others around to get what you want. I think Spooks maybe a little more negative than most people's attitudes towards the US but I think many people have reservations towards the US because of how it has acted in the past.

Ros should have shot the guy in the head would have had the same effect and Jo would still be alive.
