It would be cool if it did.

It wont end this season. If it does end it will end with Harry KIA

It could be that an extremely important mission failed and each of the agents has a last closeup while they are realizing what is to be and possibly where they went wrong. Not a bomb taking out the world or all of Europe but something catastrophic to the planet or humans, something that would take decades to set right.

They would have to set each agent up with a choice during the episode so that they can realize later that it was the wrong choice.

The last shot could be on the person who actually made the first wrong choice that set up the events where the other wrong choices followed and we all know who that is.

Edit to add that, alternatively we could start with knowing that the mission failed and during the episode each agent, feeling guilty or inadequate, tries to fathom where he or she took the wrong path. The last shot of you-know-who would not just turn negative but go neg-pos-neg-pos several times, indicating thunder and lightening.

Any particular reason for the thunder and lightning? I always preferred the simple negative effect (I have iMovie, and normally only use a 'lightning' effect when it's a piece of really fast music with lots of clips close together, but that's just me).

Do we all know who that is? Sorry, I can be completely and utterly oblivious at times Blush

Thunder and lightening because whatever is going to happen because of the fail is very bad, plus it's the last episode.

Begins with an H.

I'm still not overly keen on the idea, but maybe it'll work.

It did begin with H! I just wasn't very sure...

I hope that Malcolm does come back for the finale, that would be good.

Malcolm popping up again is a must (no spoiler, I'm just speculating) and as has been mentioned before, I'd love to see a "Tech off" between Malcolm and Tariq.

If and when the show ends, I almost vote for a Seinfeld type ending. Someone gets killed, one or two others are captured on a mission in another country, and Harry is taken to prison in the UK for crimes against the state, but it would have to be something where he had to do it to save the country or was the scapegoat. And one last person in the Grid alone trying to figure out what to do.

That should have people hating me for a while.

Ironically enough, that may be the way the show HAS to end. But I'd like there to be a bit of happiness before it ends that way. Maybe Harry ends up in the Hague for crimes against humanity, in a neither or nor situation like you described.

It's funny you comparing it to Seinfeld because that was a show's ending that really pissed people off. But it was brilliant and very suitable for the show itself. The truth is that anything too happy wouldn't work for Spooks.

That would work too. I would find it more interesting if HMG arrests him though even though he was working to their benefit whether they see it that way or not.

That was the perfect ending for Seinfeld. It was the first new episode I had watched in a couple of years. My one regret was they should have done a special at the 5 year anniversary showing them getting out of jail. That would have made it perfect.
